BSA Troop 628 Greentown

According to the U.S. Flag Code, “The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning”.

That is just what Scouts BSA Troop 528 and BSA Troop 628 Greentown did the other night. They held a Flag Retirement Ceremony. For many thos was the first time being involved in one of these.

We celebrated some hard work by many Scouts! Scouts BSA Troop 528 and BSA Troop 628 Greentown held court of honor giving the scouts and their family and friends a chance to see what merit badges, rank advancements and special awards many of our Scouts had been working hard on! Did you know there are more than a 135 merit badges that a scout can earn! It is required to have 21 merit badges along with many other requirements to obtain Eagle Scout! These kids work hard and deserve the recognition! Great work Scouts!

We will be hosting an entry-level amateur radio Technician class this fall.

Classes will be on Thursdays from 6-9pm, starting September 12th, and running 8 weeks. Classes will be held at the Howard County EMA Berkley complex 627 S Berkley Rd, Kokomo, IN 46901.

All are home safe and had an amazing week of camp!!! More photos to come after rest and catch up on life!
Thanks to amazing adult leaders, parents and our community supports us with fundraising of many kinds to make this all happen. These youth stepped up in leadership, teamwork and many other areas this week. “Scout Up” was a theme I saw all week!! This Scoutmaster is happy at the end of a fun but exhausting week.
