St. Helena Parish Healthy Communities Grant funded project through Centers for Disease Control-Partnership with LSU & Southern Ag Center, Pennington Biomedical, and DHH

This project is a partnership between LSU AgCenter, Southern AgCenter, Pennington Biomedical Research Center and LA Department of Health and Hospitals. This project is a systemic community-driven approach that is expected to increase knowledge related to healthy behaviors, to promote healthier communities through community coalitions, and to increase community practices that promote healthy behavi

ors. It is expected that these changes will improve physical activity and nutrition, reduce obesity, and prevent and control diabetes, heart disease and stroke among residents in the targeted parishes.
