🌟 Volunteer Spotlight: Katie Tonn 🌟

Katie is a new 4‑H volunteer who began serving this year, motivated by the lasting impact 4‑H had on her own life. She credits 4‑H for shaping who she is today and wanted to give back to the program that provided her with so many valuable opportunities. Katie understands that strong 4‑H programs are built on dedicated volunteers and is passionate about helping create those same meaningful experiences for today’s 4‑H members.

As a volunteer, Katie enjoys seeing the wide variety of interests kids bring to 4‑H and appreciates how the program encourages youth to explore diverse project areas. Through her volunteer experience, she has learned that activities don’t have to be perfect to be fun—embracing the true “learn by doing” spirit of 4‑H.

Thank you Katie for becoming a project volunteer! 💚🍀

🌟 Volunteer Spotlight: Jordan Caleb 🌟

Jordan has been a 4‑H volunteer for the past two years, inspired by the opportunity to learn and grow alongside her daughter, Vaeda. One of Jordan’s favorite parts of volunteering is being part of a strong, collaborative team of volunteers, leaders, agents, parents, and community project leaders—truly living out the idea that many hands make light work.

Through her volunteer role, Jordan has helped her club embrace a “work hard, play hard” approach by learning how to run effective, efficient meetings that leave more time for hands-on learning, demonstrations, and community engagement.

Thank you Jordan for all you do! 💚🍀

🌟 Volunteer Spotlight: Richard Hassiepen 🌟

Rich Hassiepen has been a dedicated 4‑H volunteer for 20 years, driven by a passion for seeing community members invest in and support youth. Throughout his time with 4‑H, Rich has been especially involved in shooting sports, where he enjoys sharing his knowledge and experiences with youth.

A memorable moment for Rich was seeing a 10 year old trap shooting student take his skills through college.

Thank you Rich for your time and investment in 4-H! 🍀

🌟 Volunteer Spotlight: Amber Stegman-Craft 🌟

Amber has been a 4‑H volunteer for the past two years, inspired by her own children’s involvement and a desire to keep 4‑H thriving in her community. She especially enjoys watching youth—including her own kids and their friends—grow and succeed, and also building strong friendships with fellow parents and families.

Amber has grown in her organization and social skills and believes organizations like 4-H and K-State Extension are important because they provide the skills you need to personally make yourself better and thrive in the world.

Thank you Amber for time and dedication to Kiowa County 4-H! 💚🍀

⭐️ Volunteer Spotlight: Brooke Parkin ⭐️

Brooke Parkin has been a dedicated 4‑H volunteer and club leader for the past two years. Her favorite part of volunteering is watching kids learn something new—and seeing the excitement on their faces when they try something different and succeed.

Brooke’s advice for anyone thinking about becoming a volunteer:
“Do it! Even if you’re new to 4‑H like I was, it is totally worth it.”

Thank you, Brooke, for making a difference in the lives of our youth! 💚🍀

🌟 National Volunteer Appreciation Week 🌟

This week, we are proud to recognize and highlight the dedicated volunteers who make a difference in the Kiowa County 4‑H Program.

Kathy Senst has been a 4‑H volunteer for over 30 years. She grew up in 4‑H herself, and her passion for the program continued as her children followed in her footsteps.

Kathy encourages anyone considering volunteering by sharing just how rewarding it is to help youth grow and succeed in their projects. She believes 4‑H teaches valuable, everyday life skills that last far beyond the program.

Thank you, Kathy, for your decades of service and for the lasting impact you’ve made on our 4‑H families! 💚🍀
