Project Linus - Decatur, Franklin & Ripley counties, IN Our volunteers, known as “blanketeers,” provide new handmade, washable blankets to be given as gifts to seriously ill and traumatized children, ages 0-18.

The mission of Project Linus is to provide children within in our community who are in need of a blanket that is handmade by a wonderful network of "blanketeers". It is Project Linus' policy to accept blankets of all sizes, depending on local chapter needs. All blanket styles are welcome, including quilts, tied comforters, fleece blankets, crocheted or knitted afghans, and receiving blankets in child-friendly colors. Always remember that blankets must be new handmade, washable, free of pins, and come from smoke-free environments due to allergy reasons.

An exciting day at first financial bank with the accounting department. The team made and packaged 50 blankets and also packaged an additional 33 blankets that had been received from a volunteer. Always look forward to volunteer day each year with this group.

My non-profit, Project Linus - Decatur, Franklin, Ripley & Rush counties, is pleased to announce we received a $3500 grant from the Decatur County Community Foundation on Wednesday night, April 29, 2026 at their event.

Thanks to all of our panelists, our emcee, our committee, and everyone who came out to support this event to benefit the Fund for Women and Children.
Congratulations to this year's grant recipient, Project Linus! Project Linus "blanketeers" make blankets to comfort Decatur County's children who are staying at the hospital, visiting the soup kitchen, or who are receiving services from other agencies.
