Girl Scout Abigail spotted a young boy struggling in a pond at an outdoor event and she didn't hesitate to take action. Abigail dove in, saved his life, and forever changed hers in the process. The boy’s mother shared, “I am so, so, so grateful to Abigail…without her quick help, John might not have made it.” In recognition of her bravery and selflessness, Abigail has been awarded the Medal of Honor, Girl Scouts’ National Lifesaving Award. 💚 This special honor is a testament to the Girl Scout Promise and Law and celebrates her readiness to help others. As Abigail says, “With Girl Scouts, they pretty much taught me if you need to spring into action, do it.” 👏 via Girl Scouts of Western Ohio

Late reminder. First Girl Scout Day after fall break. Can't wait to hear about everyone's adventures at and away from home! Especially the girls' thoughts they've had over break concerning their safety badge " thinking homework". 🦺⛑️

Tomorrow after school, I have a special snack planned 🤩 If we could remind the big girls to help look out for the little girls on the bus, that would be helpful.

At pickup, if possible, it would be great if we could gather together any collections of plastic bags for reuse or recycling that we want to get rid of. I intend to drop them off at the Food Bank on Thursday since they put out a Facebook beacon they need some. Any participation you can encourage from the girls in this task would be beneficial, so that they can feel involved in the community parts and process parts of the small task.

Tomorrow, we will be starting our discussions for the safety awards. If anyone is taking any trips or has any plans for fall break, I'd love to involve those in the discussions to make the thoughts more pertinent to the conversation and make the conversation more relatable and usable for them.

The girl scout adult from the council had a family medical emergency the day of our meeting last week, which is why she didn't come and forgot to tell me. She hopes to come tomorrow but has to see where her family's health is as the day goes. But if she can't, we will have her another day, no biggie.
