Community Action Coalition

Community Action Coalition Our mission is to decrease substance abuse and related behaviors by promoting healthy choices in Decatur County.

The Decatur County Community Action Coalition was Created in1991 in response to Governor Evan Bayh establishing a Commission for a Drug-Free Indiana. Each of Indiana's 92 counties was required to develop a Drug Free Community Fund. The fund is overseen by local coordinating councils. In Decatur County, we are known as the Community Action Coalition. The fund is financially driven by local alcohol

and drug-related arrests. Fees imposed during these arrests generate dollars, of which 75% remain local to be used for prevention strategies.
