We are excited to bring you a two-part unique opportunity to help your Webelos and AOL families plan their next steps in scouting. While also helping to check some requirements off your Den's advancement list.

First, join us Saturday, September 12-Sunday September 13 at Camp Conestoga. Your scouts will have the unique opportunity to camp with a local troop, learn about the next level in scouting and earn requirements towards their Outdoor Adventures.

Then, on Monday, September 21, join us for Meet the Troops Night at First United Methodist Church in Irwin. This evening is an opportunity for the cubs to interact with the scouts and learn new skills while their adults meet the leaders and get first hand information. When you walk out of this event, you will be ready to take that next step in scouting. The Meet and Greet Night also covers the AOL Bobcat requirement #7.

Please complete this Google Form by August 31 letting us know which events your Pack plans to join!

Update 3: I will be giving the 17 scouts that expressed interest in August session first priority sign-up. If I respond to you that I added you to the list, you will be contacted in the coming weeks about signing up for the August session. As of 6/13/26, I am not able to take additional people that express interest. I apologize about that.

Update 2: There definitely appears to be a lot of interest in doing a second session in August. Please comment on this post if you are interested, I will put you on my list to contact for priority sign-ups for the next session.

UPDATE: Thank you everyone who signed up. I had to turn off the Google Form, because we hit 16 scouts. Unfortunately, it would be fairly difficult for me to teach more than 16 scouts. I was not expecting this large of a number of sign-up so quickly. (Good problem to have.) If you were not able to sign up and interested, please comment below. With enough interest, I can do another session in August.

For Scouts BSA and Venturing Crew Scouts, there will be a free Citizenship in the World Merit Badge class being taught by Casey Veychek on Monday June 15, 2026 from 6pm to 8pm at the pavilion at Indian Lake Park. Citizenship in the World is an Eagle required badge.

There are a few pre-requirements that need to be completed before the class.

This Merit Badge class is opened to all Bushy Run District scouts and all Westmoreland-Fayette Council scouts at no cost.

There is a Google Form link in the comments to sign up. There is additional information provided on the form.

Rufus was a good boy at Camporee 250 this weekend! 🐾🤖

Local Boy Scouts got the chance to meet our robot dog, learn a little about the technology behind him and snap some photos along the way. We think it’s safe to say Rufus stole the show!
