The present day IBWCP Reenactment Unit was formed in 2007 at Historic Hanna’s Town, Greensburg with 13 members. We are of varied backgrounds and professions, all with a passion for the history of our country, specifically the 18th century Western Pennsylvania fro

ntier. Our goal is to educate ourselves and others in the lifestyles of our predecessors. We use these skills not only in public reenactments, weekend treks and canoe trips, but in many cases, everyday life. Our focus time period spans the years 1750 thru 1783, encompassing the French and Indian, and Revolutionary Wars. We offer living history programs, interpretations and participate at historical reenactments mainly in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, but also in our locations in PA, NY and WV.

Captain Thomas Graham's Company makes a special appearance at Fort Ligonier this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, June 6 & 7, 2026 from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM to kick off summer's first History Alive! weekend program, History Alive! featuring the 42nd Royal Highland Regiment of Foote.

Visitors can interact with the historical interpreters who represent the 42nd Regiment of Foote and learn about their crucial role not only in the Fort Ligonier story but the French and Indian War. From the taking of Fort Duquesne during the Forbes Campaign of 1758 to the Battle of Bushy Run and the relief of Fort Pitt during Pontiac’s War of 1763 this Highlander regiment is legendary.

History Alive! is an engaging experience for visitors to learn about the daily life of a frontier military outpost in North America during the 18th century. Weekends feature 18th century artisans, tradesmen, musicians, historical military units, and more who depict the culture and lifestyle of the colonial era.

Check out upcoming History Alive! programs.
