ANC Officer stationed at BAMC. The quote he has on his page: Be kind, be courageous, be yourself!

HIS REQUEST:
Everyone has asked, "What can I send you? What do you need?" to which I reply, "Nothing, Thank You". However, now is your chance to send me something WE need/want. Kuwait is hot, sandy, dull and brown. In an attempt to brighten the lives of Soldiers (and ourselves), we are creating a rock garden! We are asking that everyone send us a colorful rock! We need all colors, sizes, and shapes. Add your name, location...whatever you want.

***PLEASE SHARE THIS POST WITH YOUR FRIENDS SO WE CAN GET AS MANY PEOPLE AS WE CAN TO BRING SOME COLOR AND LOVE TO THESE SOLDIERS***

We're putting some more out today! If you find them post a pic with your rock and where you found them. Happy Hunting!

Okay guys, I've test painted the stones from the Dollar Tree stores (The flat brown ones). I found that if you try to cover them completely with another color, the paint doesn't stick well because they have a coating on them. I tried just painting a saying on them and then sealed them and that worked pretty well.

Here is how it works:

All you have to do is find some rocks (find outside or buy from Home Depot, Lowe's, Dollar Tree, etc.,) and buy painting supplies (paint, sharpies, markers) to paint the rocks all sorts of different colors. Add embellishments like stickers, stars - let your imagination go wild and zany!! Write words of encouragement, inspiration - anything that would spread happiness, joy and love. On the back of your artwork, we would love if you referenced "St. Helena Parish Rocks". Once you've completed your masterpiece, it is recommended that you seal it with a clear coat (clear spray paint or Modge Podge) before hiding it to protect your art from the elements.

Hide in plain sight your rock somewhere for someone to find (Example: at the front door of your local grocery store, at a gas pump, or on top of your neighborhood mailbox).

If you find a painted rock, take a picture, share it with us on here and let us know where you found it and either keep the rock or re-hide the rock for someone else to find OR better yet - paint a rock and put in its place.

We would love if you posted pictures of your painted rocks before you hide them or when you find them.

The goal is to get the community involved so there is a lot of rocks to find out there!!

This is meant for fun for everyone of all ages and abilities. Please keep your artwork and comments PG-rated as kids love to look for and find hidden rocks. Negativity, bad language, arguing, etc., will not be tolerated and will result in you being banned from our page.

Remember to be respectful of private property and businesses. DO NOT take unpainted rocks from businesses or individual's yards to paint. People pay good money to have rocks laid in their yard for landscaping. This is considered stealing. Also, it is illegal to get rocks from the railroad tracks.

Please do not place rocks inside or in front of credit/debit card readers at ATMs, gas stations, Sonic, etc.,.

HAVE FUN!!
