Grow Westmoreland

Grow Westmoreland has had a busy summer!

Earlier this month, we celebrated Labor Day - a day that recognizes the hard work and contributions of America’s workforce. In that same spirit, Grow Westmoreland is proud to have awarded scholarships and tool grants to local students who are continuing their education, learning a trade, and preparing to enter the workforce.

Please join us in congratulating (cue the applause! 👏)...Desoto, Luke, Andrew, Lucas, Samuel & Christian!

We’re proud to support these young people as they take their next steps, investing in their own futures and in the future of Westmoreland County!

🎉 THANK YOU to everyone who joined us for Grow Westmoreland's Summer Bash: A Toast to the Trades on Friday evening!

What an incredible night of great food (thank you, Live Casino Pittsburgh!), music (thank you, Chase with Moxie Events!), networking, raffles...and gelato!

We were especially excited to announce that Grow Westmoreland was able to award $20,000 to Penn State Extension – Westmoreland County 4-H in support of their youth development programming. We are proud to support initiatives that help develop leadership skills, hands-on learning experiences, and future opportunities for young people throughout our community.

Thank you again to everyone who attended and helped make this event such a success!

🌱 What a great afternoon at the Founders Market at Founders Park in Hempfield Township!

Grow Westmoreland had the chance to connect with some amazing local vendors, including our friends at Gillis Family Farm, and see firsthand the impact local agriculture is making in our community. 💛

One of the highlights was hearing about their rolling chicken coop, made possible in part through Grow Westmoreland grant funding. It's exciting to see innovative ideas come to life and help support the growth and success of local family farms!

Be sure to stop by the Founders Market every Tuesday from 3:00–7:00 PM to shop local, support our farmers and producers, and enjoy all the great things our community has to offer. 🌽🍅🥚🚜
