Our W-4 Paws Working Cat Program placed our last four shelter cats with GREAT SUCCESS last weekend. This program has saved so many feral/under-socialized cats from euthanasia out of our local municipal shelter. It’s on pause for now while FCAP regroups with changes the shelter has implemented 💔. These cats are siblings that we were able to place together!!!’ Two are socialized and two a little more spicy! They will go through a 30 day acclimation period crated and socialized before they are released to work … and be loved and cared for! As with all W-4 Paws placements, they will have proper shelter and daily care!

We had another successful clinic! We are run by ALL volunteer staff and vets! Here are a few of the beautiful cats whose lives were improved by a lot of collective work!

We had a small but mighty clinic on Sunday! This time of year, many of our amazing vets are soaking up the last summer weekends with their families, so July and August clinics tend to be a bit smaller for us.

Still, 46 cats received care at this month’s clinic!

UPDATE: ADOPTED together!

Meet Owen and Luke! BONDED brothers available for adoption … they need to be place together.

Like the Wilson brothers they are named for, these super sweet boys are sure to entertain! Rescued from a euthanasia list, these darling kittens have reached out and touched the hearts of everyone who’s met them. White and tabby Owen—with a distinctive nose like his namesake—was the first to brave human interaction, leading the way to fun and frolicking, but his initially shy brother Luke is now equally outgoing, always ready for plenty of purring, playing, and petting. These two boys are looking for a ‘furever’ home where they can love and be loved!

UPDATE: ADOPTED together!

These kittens were pulled from Guilford County Animal Services due to behavior issues. They came from an outside feral colony and were scared and a little spicy. They were sent to a WONDERFUL behavior foster and have PASSED THE TEST ... they are now available for adoption.

🐾 Help a Beloved Community Cat Get Urgent Dental Surgery

For 30 years, FCAP has seen community cats become meaningful parts of our neighborhoods—surviving incredible odds, quietly enriching the lives of those around them, and often becoming deeply loved members of the community.

Today, one of those cats urgently needs our help.

He is a senior community cat who has lived his life outdoors in an apartment complex where neighbors have come to know and care for him. He is now suffering from severe dental disease and is in significant pain. Without treatment, his condition will only worsen.

He needs extensive dental surgery as soon as possible. The estimated cost is **$2,500.

We are reaching out because we cannot do this without you.

One of his longtime caretakers shares his story:

> “In 2015, I was leaving my house when I noticed a mother cat and her tiny kittens sheltering beneath my car…
> Over the years, he endured storms, heat, cold, predators, and loss—but he stayed.
> He became a familiar, gentle presence in our community.
> Even after everything he has endured, he still greets people with trust and softness.
> Now, in his senior years, he is struggling to eat and live comfortably. The pain is constant.
> No cat who has survived this much should be left in pain when help is within reach.”

Three lucky W-4 Paws Working Cats are setup to start their 30 Day acclimation period. FCAP volunteers traveled with these three to set them up in Reidsville, NC this weekend! Shelter names are Pocket Lint, Dynamo and Spit Ball. They are going on a property for rodent control! Excuse the mess in their crates ... this was the morning after their first overnight in their crates. This population of cats are not used to confinement and can get a bit messy when first crated!

Our W-4 Paws Working Cat Program is reserved for cats that enter Guilford County Animal Services that are assessed as not adoptable to the general public. FCAP provides the temporary acclimation crates and our volunteers go boots on ground to set these cats up for success!!! We work close with adopters to facilitate the entire process. We bring a lot of experience to this process. Cats eligible for our program have entered our shelter, trapped from outside situations, and will not have positive outcomes if we can not place them!

All cats are spay/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, are up to date on flea and tick preventatives and have a left eartip!

Progress is being made!!!! FCAP is doing our part to help feral cats that end up at Guilford County Animal Services by placing them through our W-4 Paws Working Cat Program! There are still more cats entering the shelter than can be placed … however … it’s innovative partnerships that make the No-Kill Movement possible!
