I want to sincerely thank Greensboro & Winstom Salem Pregnancy Network, Angela, and the amazing staff for inviting me out to share this morning’s devotion. We had such a beautiful and encouraging time together, and I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to fellowship with such an incredible group of women.

This morning, we reflected on Proverbs 31:25-26:“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.”

We talked about how God uniquely prepares each of us with special character traits and strength for the journey He has called us to. Because we are rooted in God and grounded in His Word, we do not have to fear the future. Challenges may come, but God will continue to sustain us, guide us, and strengthen us through every season.

We also discussed the importance of wisdom — allowing our words to reflect grace, encouragement, and the love of God in every space we enter.

Thank you again for such a warm welcome and beautiful time of fellowship. I’m grateful for opportunities like this to represent Still Rising Women and pour into our community.

His chair still sat in the same spot by the TV. On game days, she could almost hear him fussing at the screen, laughing one minute and shaking his head the next. Sometimes she would sit there just looking at that chair, remembering how normal it used to feel to have him in the room. Even the smell of his cologne on an old shirt could make her stop and cry.

The hardest part was not always the big moments. It was waking up and reaching across the bed before she remembered. It was setting out one plate instead of two. It was hearing good news and realizing he was not there to tell. She had people around her, but grief had a way of making even a crowded room feel lonely.

For a while, she tried to be strong because that is what everybody expected. She answered, “I’m okay,” even when she was not. She smiled at church, spoke to people at the store, and kept moving through the day like her heart was not breaking all over again.

But one night, the house got too quiet. She sat in his chair, pulled his old shirt close, and finally told God the truth.

“Lord, I miss him. And I don’t know how to live with this empty space.”

No thunder came. No big sign filled the room. But right there in the quiet, a scripture rose in her heart.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18

She cried then, not because the pain disappeared, but because she remembered she was not grieving alone. God was close to her broken heart. Close in the quiet house. Close beside the empty chair. Close in the nights when missing him felt too heavy to carry.

And little by little, she learned that healing did not mean forgetting him. It meant letting God hold the part of her heart that still hurt. It meant taking one day at a time, breathing through the hard moments, and trusting that the Lord could bring comfort even to places that still felt empty.

Sister, if you know what it feels like to miss someone who used to be part of your everyday life, God sees that pain. You do not have to rush your healing. You do not have to pretend you are fine. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and He is able to comfort you right where you are.

The Road to HerEpisode 3: The Eyes
She stood there, gazing into the mist, struggling to understand what had just happened. She had seen someone in the fog, their hand reaching out to her. And when she looked up, the eyes staring back at her felt familiar, an image she couldn’t forget.
Then it hit her. What she was seeing in the fog was not a stranger at all. The shadow, the outstretched hand, even the familiar eyes were reflecting back the very person she had been trying not to face—herself. All at once, the truth came rushing in. The fear, the pain, the disappointment, the silent battles, the woman who had been carrying so much for so long. It was all right there in front of her.
For the first time, she could see where she had been stuck. She had let pain speak louder than promise. She had let fear weaken her faith. She had let disappointment make her wonder if God had forgotten her. The waiting, the silent pain , the unanswered prayers, and the pressure of life had all started shaping how she saw herself, her future, and even the God she was still trying to trust.

The Road to Her
Episode 2: The Shadow
She held her breath, waiting for the shadow to move. The mist was so thick she couldn’t tell if the figure was ten feet away or a hundred. All she could see was a dark outline standing perfectly still in the middle of the road.
Her mind started racing. Was it the person who hurt her? Was it the fear she’d been running from? Or was it just her imagination playing tricks on her in the dark?
"Who's there?" she called out again. Her voice sounded thin, shaking like a leaf in the wind.
She looked to the left, then to the right. There was nowhere to hide. Just the open road and the gray wall of fog. She felt exposed. She felt like a target.
Then, the shadow took one slow step forward.
It didn't attack. It didn't shout. It just moved with a strange kind of grace, like it knew exactly where it was going.
She felt a weird warmth start to spread through her chest. It wasn't the "run away" kind of fear anymore. It was a "pay attention" kind of stillness.
As the shadow stepped into a sliver of that orange starlight, she saw a hand reach out. Not a hand to hurt her, but a hand held open—as if it were waiting for her to take it.
She squinted, trying to see the face, trying to make sense of the shape.
"I know those eyes," she whispered to herself.
But before she could see the face clearly, a sudden gust of wind blew the mist right between them, hiding the figure once again.

The Road to Her
Episode 1: The Step
She had been through so much.
Pain. Waiting. Fear. Sickness. Disappointment.
Some nights she cried until there were no tears left. Some days she just wanted to walk away from it all. Some moments, the silence from Heaven felt like a heavy weight she couldn't lift.
She was standing in the fog, and it felt like the fog was winning.
She couldn’t see the whole road.
She didn’t know how the bills would get paid, how the heart would heal, or why the journey had to be this hard.
But she didn't turn back.
Step by step, she kept going.
Not because she was a superhero. Not because she wasn't trembling. But because deep down, she knew God hadn't left her side in the dark.
She thought she was just surviving the mist.
She thought she was just trying to get through the day.
But what she did not know was this:
She wasn’t just walking through pain.
She was walking into her destiny.
Suddenly, the wind shifted.
The mist began to swirl around her feet, and for the first time in years, she saw a shadow moving in the distance. It wasn't a shadow of her past, and it wasn't the enemy she expected.
Her heart stopped. She reached out her hand, and her voice finally broke the silence.
"Is... is that You?"
The answer she received would change the road forever.
