Yesterday, May 19th, marked my first full year as Volunteer Coordinator 🥹💚
It’s honestly hard to put into words what this year has meant to me. This role was something I worked toward for years, and getting the opportunity to serve both our animals and volunteers in this capacity has been incredibly rewarding, challenging, humbling, and inspiring all at once.
Over the last year, we’ve celebrated adoptions, supported animals through difficult moments, welcomed new volunteers, built new ideas/programs, strengthened communication, and continued working toward creating a positive and supportive environment for both people and pets. None of that would be possible without the support, compassion, and passion of the incredible team and community behind it all.
To our volunteers: thank you for showing up- even on the hard days. Thank you for your compassion, patience, dedication, advocacy, and willingness to learn and grow alongside us. The impact you make matters more than you know.
To my coworkers and leadership: thank you for your support, guidance, patience, and for trusting me in this role as I continue learning and growing into it.
And to the animals: thank you for reminding all of us why this work matters so deeply.
I still have so much I want to improve, learn, and accomplish, but I’m incredibly grateful for how far this program- and I personally- have come over the last year. Here’s to continuing to grow, advocate, and make a difference together 🐾 ❤️
