🌳 NCOT 2026 | Wednesday Recap: Rooted in Place, Reaching Forward

What an incredible start to the 2026 National Convention on Outdoor Theatre in Chillicothe, Ohio!

Wednesday brought together outdoor theatre professionals from across the country for an exciting opening day of learning, collaboration, and connection.

🎭 Opening Day Highlights:

Our opening sessions provided opportunities for attendees to exchange ideas, share experiences, and explore the future of outdoor theatre.

We were thrilled to welcome Adam Burke, Artistic Director of Children’s Theatre of Charlotte, as our keynote speaker, helping set the tone for meaningful conversations throughout the convention.

The evening continued with our Welcome Dinner, where colleagues and friends gathered to reconnect, build new relationships, and celebrate the outdoor theatre community.

A special thank-you to our hosts, Tecumseh! and The Scioto Society, for welcoming us to Chillicothe!

As we continue exploring this year’s theme, Rooted in Place, Reaching Forward, we’re reminded that the strength of outdoor theatre lies in the stories we tell, the communities we serve, and the connections we build.
