StepUp Greensboro StepUp Greensboro Motivates, Empowers, and Equips individuals to become self-sufficient and stable through Employment and Life Skills.

StepUp Greensboro prepares people who are ready, willing and able to make positive changes in their lives for jobs and more stable lives. Our programs help people living in poverty and those who are homeless, including veterans, the formerly incarcerated and families with children. We believe that every person has the right to work and access to a better life. We believe that people can change if they have the desire and will. We acknowledge that empowerment is a far more powerful strategy for change and success than enabling. We expect honesty, discipline and fairness of ourselves and others. We encourage accountability and responsibility from all involved. We honor diversity and understand that every individual has a voice. We are committed to collaboration with others because few problems can be solved alone. We strive to be careful stewards of human and financial resources.

🎓💙💚 And just like that, our Life Skills Class of 2026 has come to an end!

36 weeks of commitment, growth, learning, and transformation. What a journey it has been!

Our participants showed up and did the work, fueled by their own tenacity, determination, and willingness to grow. Along the way, they were supported by community partners who walked alongside them, shared their knowledge, and invested in their journey.

More than lessons were learned. Relationships were built, connections were cultivated, and opportunities for brighter futures were created.

At StepUp Greensboro, we believe that when people are equipped with the tools, support, and resources they need, they can take meaningful steps toward stability and self-sufficiency.

To our participants and community partners, THANK YOU for being part of this journey. Your commitment made these 36 weeks meaningful, and we celebrate every step forward!

Congratulations, Life Skills Class of 2026! 🎉 Your journey doesn’t end here. This is another step toward a brighter future!

This past weekend, StepUp Greensboro was privileged and honored to be among the organizations participating in Breaking Barriers, Building HOPE: POH’s 2026 Community Mental Health Fair! 💙

At StepUp Greensboro, we understand that supporting individuals goes beyond employment. It also means recognizing the importance of mental health and creating opportunities for individuals to access resources, support, and encouragement as they navigate their journeys.

We remain committed to bringing mental health awareness to the participants we serve and the community we are proud to be a part of. Because building stability and self-sufficiency means caring for the whole person.

🌟 SECOND CHANCES. NEW OPPORTUNITIES. A NEW CHAPTER.

Last week, Britney connected with us through our Justice-Involved Services with Guilford County Local Reentry as he began his journey toward finding employment after his previous job ended.

Today, he came back with GREAT NEWS! 🙌🏾

Our amazing Reentry Case Manager, Lillie B., along with our wonderful Theresa G., worked with Brittany to update his resume and prepare him for his interview.

But Brittany didn’t stop there.

After his interview, he took the initiative to visit other businesses in the same area—and his determination paid off. He walked away with a job offer and starts ASAP! 🎉👏🏾

This is what opportunity, preparation, and determination can look like.

At StepUp Greensboro, we believe people deserve the opportunity to move forward, rebuild, and become self-sufficient and stable through employment and life skills.

And Brittany is proof that a second chance can be the beginning of something GREAT.

Nicholas is a Social Work Major at North Carolina A&T State University, and we are excited to have him join our team as we continue our mission of empowering individuals toward self-sufficiency and stability through employment and life skills.

Seven consecutive weeks of showing up, learning, growing and putting in the work! 👏🏾

Our graduates have spent the last seven weeks learning how to:
✨ Build and manage a budget
✨ Understand credit
✨ Manage debt
✨ Pull and review their credit reports
✨ Gain a better understanding of their overall financial picture
