Greensboro Indiana This is not the official page for the Town of Greensboro Indiana. Greensboro, population 144, is a small town in Henry County Indiana.

We would like to use the page to communicate what is going on in Greensboro and to tell our history. The first settlers were mostly Quakers (Friends) from Eastern Ohio, Virginia and North Carolina. Jacob Wood, Samuel Pickering, from Belmont County, Ohio, settled one mile east of Greensboro in 1821. ace near Greensboro. As more settlers arrived they located the small settlement on the banks of Duck Creek. Around 1823 they established a Quaker Meeting (church) in Greensboro which was the first meeting in Henry County. The Duck Creek Meeting was an influential force in mid nineteenth century politics establishing a strong voice and radical action in both the Abolitionist Movement and the Women’s Suffrage Movement. They incorporated the town in 1831 making Greensboro one of the oldest towns in Henry County.
