is a voluntary owners association with modest annual dues which are used to maintain the beautiful lakes Hamilton and Euphemia as well as the walking trails around the lakes. The town of Hamilton Lakes was originally developed in the 1920′s. Scales built his 11,000 square foot Georgian mansion facing Lake Hamilton and backing up to Lakewood Drive, the intent in 1923 would seem to have been to crea

te a neighborhood of very expensive houses; however, development in the rest of Hamilton Lakes as well as Starmount Forest was more modest beginning in the years after World War II. The town of Hamilton Lakes was annexed by the City of Greensboro in 1957 but maintains its own parks and walking trails by means of association dues and other voluntary member contributions. The Hamilton Lakes & Parks Spring Fishing Clinic returned to Lake Hamilton on Saturday, May 9th, with another outstanding turnout of young anglers, seasoned fishermen, volunteers, and plenty of hungry fish. Crisp morning temperatures and overcast skies gradually gave way to beautiful blue skies, creating a perfect day on the water for neighbors and families to gather and enjoy one of Hamilton Lakes’ longtime community traditions.

A special thank you goes to the volunteers who continue to make these clinics possible year after year:

• Bob Broussard — celebrating more than 18 years of volunteering with Hamilton Lakes & Parks Fishing Clinics.
• Jamie Culbertson — also marking 18 years of service. Jamie grew up in Hamilton Lakes and now travels from Palm Coast, Florida each year to help with the event.
• Robert Smith — HLP Board member, volunteer, and weekend coordinator whose leadership helped make this year’s clinic another success.

Robert is proudly stepping into the role long held by former HLP Board member and neighborhood champion Jack Baylis, who helped establish this biannual fishing tradition 18 years ago and whose dedication helped shape it into the special community event it is today.

Please join us again on Sunday, September 20th from 9:00 a.m. until noon at Lake Euphemia for another exciting morning of fishing, followed by a Fall Picnic featuring food trucks and live music from 5:00–7:00 p.m. that evening.

Thank you for supporting the Hamilton Lakes & Parks community traditions that continue to bring neighbors together.

Brought to you by your Hamilton Lakes & Parks Board.

A Hamilton Lakes & Parks community effort brought together five volunteers—Kyle Jackson, Will Blaauw, Rob Conzett, George Enell, and Ronnie Grabon—to complete a successful refresh of the Hamilton Lakes Vista area. All planting and initial watering were completed in a single coordinated effort.

Ronnie Grabon, HLP’s organizer, led the initiative and will coordinate ongoing volunteer support. Weekend watering is in place, and a Sign Up Genius will be used to schedule twice-weekly maintenance over the coming weeks.

Special thanks to the Anderson family for providing access to water.

Those interested in volunteering in the future may contact Ronnie Grabon at [email protected].

As the Secretary of Hamilton Lakes and Parks, something that has long been on my heart is to gather, in one place, more of the oral and written history of our lovely community. If you are a long-time resident of Hamilton Lakes, grew up here, or just happen to know some extra historical facts that may not already be published on our website, I'd love to hear them and/or get copies of any photos you are willing to share.

Also, if your home is in the original town limits of Hamilton Lakes and you happen to know the history of your own home/property or any interesting facts about that, I'd love to know that information as well!

We are so fortunate to live in such a beautiful area and I want to make sure the rich history of Hamilton Lakes can be passed down to future generations.

If you would be willing to share any of the above with me, please shoot me an email at [email protected] . Thank you!

*Important Announcement*

Our 2026 Annual Membership Meeting will take place on Tuesday, April 7th, 2026 at 7pm at the clubhouse of Hamilton Lakes Swim and Tennis Club (800 Montpelier Dr., Greensboro). We will introduce our 2026 Board of Directors and discuss our 2026 budget. All of our members are welcome to attend and we hope to see you there! Chairs in the clubhouse are sometimes limited, so if you have a camp chair you'd like to bring to sit in it's always a good idea.
