Drawing deeply from the life and work of movement leaders such as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Ella Baker in conjunction with over 50 years of connected struggle in and around Greensboro; the Beloved Community Center of Greensboro’s connection to the social justice movement started long before it’s official founding 20 years ago. Barbara Dua, Assistant Pastor of First Presbyterian Church, Rev. Holler, Pastor of Presbyterian Church of the Covenant and Rev. Johnson, Pastor of Faith Community Church; the BCC has continued to pursue its mission and dream of building of an inclusive community that uplifts the dignity, worth and enormous potential of all. Through community building, community organizing, advocacy and other forms of coalition building, the BCC continues to work towards building a “Beloved Community.”
