HO-HO-HO! Merry Christmas!
Its that time of year again. Time for our Gifts On Cycles ride to the Murdoch Center in Butner N.C. Saturday, Dec. 7.
For the Newbies, and maybe some oldies, we head to the center to bring gifts and share a good time with the residents at the Murdoch Developmental Center which is an intermediate care facility for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
There will be a motorcycle parade through the facility so bring something to decorate your bike with.
We need to get to the center about 9:30am to register, drop off gifts, socialize, and have some time to decorate our bike before the parade which should line up at 10:30.
Meet at the rest stop on I40/85 at mile marker 139 East of Greensboro between exits 138 and 140 at 8:15am. We will be leaving at 8:30.
If you go directly to Murdoch, the address is 1600 E C St, Butner, NC 27509.
Take exit 191 off 85 North, which is Hwy 56/ Butner Creedmore Rd, turn left back over the interstate and destination will be about one mile down on your right.

Who wants pancakes?
This Sunday October 20th.
Meadows of Dan Pancake Breakfast
Annual all you can eat pancake fundraiser. Buttermilk or Buckwheat pancakes along
with sausage and gravy. Proceeds go to the MOD Ruritan, Fire, and Rescue Depts.
Adults $8. Children $5
Meet at Captain Bill's at 9:15am and leave at 9:30. (Rain date 10/27)

NC-A FYI: Remember, the holiday season is coming up, before you head to chapter meeeting, check the state website, gwrranc.org, to find out any meeting changes. Ride safe!
Please let everyone know that Asheville, Chapter NC- I, will have a change in our November and December monthly meetings.
November our meeting will be on the 9th. We will have a short meeting at 11am (no breakfast) then we will go to a planned outing.
December meeting will be on the 14th. Lunch will be at 11am and meeting at noon. Our meetings will still be at our normal meeting location, see below
We normally meet on the 4th Saturday of each month at :
J & S Cafeteria, Westridge Market Place,
900 Smokey Park Hwy, Enka NC.

NC-A, Cody Creek info:

Tomorrow (9/22)is our ride to Cody Creek in Dobson. This destination has been a favorite for Ch-A for many years. Besides having a restaurant, there are several other buildings including a gift shop and ice cream shop.
The location is 112 Old Depot Ln which runs directly off Route 601 a short ways north from route 268.
Ken and Linda will be leading the ride. Meet at the Wilco-Hess on Sandy Ridge rd at I40 in Colfax at 1:00pm and leave at 1:15.

NC-A friday night dinner ride info:
This Friday, 9/6, we are going to the Weathervane Winery to dance to the music of the Embers at the suggestion of Donna and Tony Sanders. You can bring a picnic dinner or purchase dinner onsite from The Original Little Richards BBQ. Donna and Tony will be onsite early to stake out our space and set up a tent. Bring your own lawn chairs and table. Admission is $10 per person.The music starts at 7:00pm but it is best to arrive as early as possible due to limited parking.

For any one wishing to carpool, send us an email and we will arrange meeting places and times. We have been to these events many times at the Weathervane and had a blast. Weathervane is a bit of a ride but well worth the trip.

NC-A, here are just a few of the NC chapter changes for Sept.,2013. Remember, to check, http://www.gwrranc.org/ , for the latest changes for NC chapters. Several chapters have changed times, places or cancelled meeting because of Wings Over NC, or for the upcoming holidays. Here are the latest changes:

NC-F:Due to the Labor Day holiday, we will be moving our meeting from Sept 1st to Sept 8th for the September gathering only. Eat at 2pm, meet at 3pm. We will gather at:
J&L Catering and Country Buffet (Formerly Hilda’s) Northwoods Shopping Center, 2586 Onslow Dr., Jacksonville, NC .

Since it was my birthday this week I'm picking my favorite restaurant, Mexico at 4800 West Market St., Greensboro, see you there at 7:00! Would like to take a moment to thank Don Herman for all the work he did for our camping and the picnic this past weekend at Zooland. It went great and I believe a great time was had by all. Thomas
