Teen Mentoring
Our goal at the YMCA Achievers Program is to educate & expose youth in 8th-12th grade to careers in business, as well as to promote & encourage students to further their education through colleges & technical schools. We aim to develop the individual talents, academic & leadership capabilities of each participant while instilling a greater sense of self–confidence. Activities Include:
Career Exploration
Leadership/Mentoring
Cultural Enrichment
SAT Preparation
College Tours
Teen Summit
Awards Program
STEM - Aeroponic Gardening and other activities

Criteria & Enrollment: Youth must be in grades eight through twelve to enroll. There are no scholastic requirements to enroll, however students must present report cards each grading period. Enrollment is held June through September.

Five days. 19 Teen Achievers. Countless memories made in the mountains. ⛰️💙

From hiking through Black Mountain and learning about local wildlife to feeding goats, practicing archery, exploring stream ecology and taking on 40-foot-high ropes courses, our teen achievers spent the week stepping outside their comfort zones, building confidence and learning together.

A huge thank you to the Rotary Club of Greensboro for making this unforgettable week at Blue Ridge Assembly possible! 🌲✨

Last night, the YMCA Greensboro Teen Programs Honors Reception: BLOOM brought together a formal evening dedicated to celebrating growth, achievement, and bright futures.

The event honored the accomplishments of teens across our programs, recognizing their hard work, leadership, and commitment throughout the year. From awards to heartfelt moments of recognition, the evening reflected the strength, confidence, and community our teens continue to build together.

BLOOM was more than a celebration, it was a reflection of what happens when young people are empowered to lead, create, and shine.

We are proud of every teen who contributed, participated, and was recognized. Their future is bright and still unfolding 🌸

This Global Youth Service Day, our teens are stepping up in a big way through a community food drive with A Simple Gesture. They have been learning what it means to lead with compassion, organize with purpose, and create real impact right here in our community.

Big things are happening with our teen leaders 👏

At this year’s NC Youth & Government Conference, YMCA of Greensboro delegates had a bill signed into law for the 5th year in a row — a huge accomplishment that reflects their hard work and dedication.

From education funding to accountability surrounding AI and internet safety, our Youth and Government teens researched real issues, presented their ideas, and confidently stepped into the legislative process.

In partnership with A Simple Gesture, they are hosting a food drive at Spears Family YMCA and Ragsdale Family YMCA to support local families.

Grab a green bag from Y Leaders, fill it with nonperishable food and return it by March 2.

• Wednesday at Ragsdale Family YMCA - 3:30OM-6PM
