Dear Facebook, We are *volunteers* to a NON-OPROFIT organization, we share news of ourselves, our community here.. to keep nagging us to "boost" posts about the obituaries that show up here is extremely distasteful. Since attempts to settle this in private messages go ignored, the issue is going public. We DO NOT "profit from anything except the fun of a gift from a lot of students at a great educational institution.

Thought I would share our performance at The High Point Senior Games this past Tuesday night. There were some sound hiccups, but I think it turned out okay.

On the next show we'll step outside the usual Splendid Turntable music format for our semi-annual Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival of Music and Dance preview - all artists appearing at the festival next weekend (May 7-10) in Pittsboro. Whether you're going or not, you'll be exposed to a ton of new artists during the show.

Twice a year, the festival presents 70+ acts spanning worldwide traditional styles and genres like Appalachian folk, jazz, world, zydeco, funk, reggae, rock, bluegrass, alt country, singer songwriter, soul, you name it. We'll hear a lot of those styles on Monday, May 4, 8-10am EDT on WQFS Guilford College Radio. Tune in to 90.9 FM in Greensboro or stream wherever you are on Earth.

The Shakori Hills GrassRoots Festival of Music & Dance is a collaboration between the Shakori Hills Community Arts Center and the GrassRoots Festival Organization, with proceeds primarily benefiting The Shakori Hills Community Arts Center, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that supports music/arts programming in local schools such as their Roots in the Schools program, and community educational workshops.
