Hi all, I spoke with Geneva this evening and she was able to return home from the hospital earlier this week.
She was able to have the battery of tests to check the progress on her treatment while she was there without having to go back again.
The good news is that today she was told that the treatment is working.
She said “this was the best birthday present I could have received!”
Please continue to keep her in your prayers. She said that she enjoys phone calls and would appreciate hearing from us. With her vision as it is, cards and letters are appreciated, but she is not able to read them without assistance. If you need her phone number, please message me. Keith Bumgarner

Chris and Sandra Canipe were interim campus ministers in 1973. Scott Lyle, their son-in-law, is also a BSU alum. We would like to express our condolences to Sandra, Lee, Molly and Scott.

I was able to visit Geneva yesterday. She is in good spirits and asks that we specifically pray for the development of a treatment plan. She has an appointment with her oncologist coming up on Friday.
She would love to hear from anyone who would like to call her. She prefers calls.

Please pray for Geneva, she was admitted to the hospital this week because she had been having difficulty breathing.

After diagnostic testing Geneva has been diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer.

She needs and desires your prayers.

Geneva was able to be discharged from the hospital this afternoon. She is doing great and her spirits are good. She has someone helping her until she is comfortable on her own.

Geneva will be undergoing back and spine surgery tomorrow at Cone Hospital in Greensboro. Please lift up Geneva and her medical team as they work to repair her condition as it has made mobility very difficult for her.

We were just made aware that Steven Clarke (‘95) passed away yesterday. There will not be a memorial service, at his request. Anyone who wishes to post memories to his Facebook profile is encouraged to do so and these will be shared with his family.

The UNCG ACM (Associated Campus Ministries) is celebrating its 25th anniversary at homecoming on Oct. 20. BCM (Baptist Campus Ministry) will be a part of the October 20 event, but they will have a personal drop-in on Saturday during other homecoming events.
