Greater Glenwood Neighborhood Association - GGNA

Greater Glenwood Neighborhood Association - GGNA The Greater Glenwood Neighborhood Association - GGNA - is an all-volunteer group dedicated to betterment of the Glenwood neighborhood in Greensboro, NC.

The Greater Glenwood Neighborhood Association, also known as GGNA, is a neighborhood association open to property owners, residents, renters, business owners, clergy of faith-based groups in Glenwood, and friends of the neighborhood. GGNA is registered as a non-profit group with the State of North Carolina. No dues or fees are collected. GGNA is a great way to meet your neighbors and keep current

on issues affecting Glenwood. GGNA promotes the betterment of Glenwood and is an avenue to help residents participate in making Glenwood the best neighborhood it can be. It is also a way to bring issues (about Glenwood) both good and bad to an open forum to discuss solutions. We have a very diverse neighborhood, which we are very proud of. Often, opinions differ, however, we try to remain respectful of each other. It is this diversity that makes Glenwood the unique neighborhood that it is. We welcome you to attend our monthly meeting which is held on the 1st Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the Glenwood Recreation Center located at 2010 Coliseum Blvd.

Shout out to Don Gala Pizzeria--they're going to be roasting our potatoes this year for our March 25 annual baked potato fundraiser. We did a test run this week and it looks as though the potatoes load up nicely! Want to get in on the action? Link to pre-order is in the comments.

Glenwood is fortunate to lots of good cooks. If you're one of them please consider providing a favorite topping for the annual GGNA baked potato fundraiser on March 25--chili, kimchi, beans, barbecue, salsa, curry or whatever you feel like making. Put what you're making in the comments and we'll follow up with you. And even if you can't provide a topping, don't forget to get your potato order in early so you don't miss out!

The City has begun the process of selling the former Glenwood United Methodist Church property and is reaching out to the neighborhood for input. Samuel Hunter, head of the City's Department of Housing and Neighborhood Development, was at the GGNA meeting last week to discuss the first round of the process and hear from neighbors. His recap of that discussion is attached.

An ad hoc committee of Glenwood neighbors will be working with the City through the process. If you have any reactions, questions or concerns email them to me and I'll make sure they get passed along. Liz Seymour [email protected]
