Looking for a group of young professionals who are investing their time, energy and a few dollars into making Greensboro AWESOME? YOU FOUND US!

Future Fund is an initiative of the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro. ”Funders” make an investment of $150 into the Future Fund endowment each year. Once they are a funder they can be involved as much or as little as they like in the events and committee throughout the year.

StepUp Greensboro, one of Future Fund’s 2025 grant recipients, is helping individuals build pathways to greater financial stability and long-term success.
 
StepUp Greensboro is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering adults and families through employment readiness, life skills education, financial wellness, and supportive services. By equipping participants with the tools, resources, and confidence they need to achieve economic self-sufficiency, StepUp Greensboro helps individuals overcome barriers to employment and create brighter futures for themselves and their families.

Earlier this year we gathered at Elm & Bain to celebrate something truly special, Future Festival, and we couldn't have asked for a better evening!

From the energy in the room to the words of our special guest, Olympic gold medalist and humanitarian Joey Cheek, the night was a powerful reminder of why this work matters. Joey's story — from the speed skating rink to donating his Olympic winnings to humanitarian causes and building a life centered on using success to serve others — felt right at home in a room full of young professionals who believe that giving back is part of what it means to lead.

We are so proud of our 2025 grantees, and even prouder of the community that makes it possible to support them.
