Guilford Soil & Water Conservation District

Guilford Soil & Water Conservation District The district provides technical assistance to landowners and educational programs on soil and water quality.

The Guilford Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) is a governmental subdivision
of the State of North Carolina, charged with the responsibility of promoting soil and water
conservation and establishing conservation programs in the District. The District partners
with the Natural Resources Conservation Services (NRCS) to carry out these responsibilities. As a local organization, we work with

citizens, agencies, and landowners to plan and direct
programs for the conservation and development of our natural resources. We work closely
with other state, federal, and local agencies, such as NC Department of Agriculture, NC Department
of Environment and Natural Resources, NC Forest Service, NC Cooperative Extension,
etc. to provide effective natural resource management and environmental education.

Attention middle school students and their guardians!

The City of Greensboro’s Office of Sustainability and Resiliency is hosting an interest meeting for Wild in the City: An Animal Investigation in Greensboro.

August 26, 6:30 - 7:30 pm at Kathleen Clay Edwards Family Branch Library, 1420 Price Park Dr., Greensboro, NC, 27410.

Take a deep dive into the wildlife that inhabits our community, not only within our urban downtown, but also within our vast parks, watersheds and wooded forests. We had a great time tabling with the Planning and Development department at Northern Guilford High School today for the 2026 High School Science Learning Conference! It was wonderful to chat with STEM teachers from around the county and discuss how Guilford SWCD can be a resource to schools.

Thank you Dr. Sharonda Eggleton-McNeil and Guilford County Schools for inviting us to participate!
