City Partners with Cone Health on Innovative Community Complex
The City of Greensboro is embarking on an exciting partnership with Cone Health, which will dedicate $5 million to the construction of the Windsor Chavis Nocho Community Complex (WCNCC).
“This opportunity to collaborate with Cone Health is an example of the benefits to public-private partnerships. The WCNCC concept represents a new approach to public service delivery that recognizes the need to be in community and easily accessible,” said Interim City Manager Chris Wilson.
Cone Health and the City of Greensboro are dedicated to ensuring this transformational project will create opportunities for health and wellness equity through a variety of services and educational program opportunities.
“This contribution towards the City’s capital needs will allow our most vulnerable community members to access health and wellness services like never before,” said Dr. Mary Jo Cagle, CEO of Cone Health. “Cone Health shares the City's commitment to healthy communities. Combined with our recently announced investments in health equity, this partnership will create new opportunities for improved health outcomes for those residents of east Greensboro.”
“The Windsor Chavis Nocho Community Complex truly is a one-of-a-kind multi-functional space, that will exemplify a vision to improve how to meet the needs of the entire Greensboro community, by providing a centralized community hub,“ said Greensboro Mayor Nancy Vaughan.
This model of service is designed to meet the ever-growing and changing population of east Greensboro, while providing service delivery in a way that has never been done. The 65,000-square foot facility will provide residents a place to learn and recreate together, improving daily living through health wellness, offering access to social services, promoting lifelong learning, and encouraging social interaction.
