As the leading private, non-profit child and family services agency in the state of North Carolina, Children’s Home Society of NC provides a broad range of services but our goal is simple: to be a compassionate advocate for families. We specialize in education and prevention programs, family preservation, and adoption and foster care. Ultimately, everything we do is built on our foundational belief that strong families have the power to transform communities.

As a mental health counselor, Isaac has dedicated his career to helping others. As a therapeutic foster parent, he carries that same commitment into his home.

Following in his mother's footsteps, Isaac provides stability, support, and understanding to youth facing challenges. As a single foster dad and father of two, he sees fostering as a natural extension of his calling to help others.

Passionate about being a positive role model for young Black men, Isaac approaches fostering with patience, forgiveness, and a belief in every child's potential. Read more https://vist.ly/5gduz

"I love animals, just dogs and cats really. I want to help them get better, because I don't want to see them hurt." 🐕

Thirteen-year-old Ziona describes herself as kind, funny, and joyful. She loves to sing, draw, and dance. She hopes to become a veterinarian one day so she can help animals in need. She values honesty, fairness, and clear communication. She is hoping for a family that will offer love, encouragement, and stability as she grows.

Thank you to IBM employees who spent their morning supporting children through a special employee engagement event. 🧸

Each participant created a stuffed animal that will be included in Comfort Cases provided to children entering foster care, helping offer warmth and reassurance during a difficult transition.

We are grateful for community partners who find meaningful ways to support children and families across North Carolina.

"We are literally brain builders." 🧠

For more than 20 years, Donna and Dana have welcomed children into their home, providing love, security, and the predictable routines that help children thrive.

The two see foster parenting as an opportunity to make a lasting difference, one child at a time. Their message to others is simple: children need people who will show up, care, and believe in them.

Please join us in congratulating Permanency Support Trainers Trudy Robinson and Walter Johnson for representing CHS at the 40th Annual FFTA Conference! 👏

During the conference, Trudy presented "Family at the Table: Kinship Search and Engagement," while Walter led a session on "Building Safe Online Support Groups: Helping People Find and Sustain Community Online."

In addition to sharing their expertise, they connected with colleagues from across North Carolina and around the country, exchanging ideas and strengthening relationships within the child welfare community.

We are grateful for the leadership, innovation, and dedication they bring to CHS and the children and families we serve. CHS families can catch Walter and Trudy's newest trainings on SkyPrep.

"I want to guide him and make sure he is doing the right thing, because I have to be that older model for him," says Brooke about her brother Daniel. 🫶

Brooke, 14, is creative, expressive, and enjoys drawing, reading, and exploring different ways to express herself through fashion and design. She hopes to become a defense attorney one day.

Ten-year-old Daniel is kind, friendly, and loves soccer, LEGO® bricks, and Hot Wheels. He dreams of serving others as a soldier and later becoming a police officer.

Both are hoping for a family who will love, support, and encourage them as they grow. Have you considered adoption? https://vist.ly/5ek5m

As former child protective services investigators, Sofia and Pedro spent years working with children and families during some of their most challenging moments.

Seeing the need firsthand inspired them to take action.

They opened their home to children in foster care and, over time, their family grew. Today, they're raising an 11-year-old, 9-year-old, 7-year-old, 2-year-old, and recently welcomed a baby girl to the family.

Their journey reflects compassion, commitment, and a belief that every child deserves the opportunity to grow up surrounded by love, stability, and support.

Coffee runs are better when they're for the whole office. ☕

Thanks to a CHS employee who signed our team up for a special visit from 7Venture, Inc 7 Brew as they prepare to open in Greensboro, our staff enjoyed a variety of coffee, lemonade, and other fun drinks together.

More than the caffeine boost, it was a chance to step away from our desks, catch up with coworkers, and enjoy a little connection during the workday.

Thank you, 7 Brew Coffee, for helping make it happen! What's your go-to coffee order?
