🌿 Throwback to 1976!

What is now the beloved Tanger Family Bicentennial Garden began as a bold vision to transform a city-owned floodplain into a place of beauty, learning, and reflection.

Dedicated on October 21, 1976, the garden included a time capsule that will remain sealed until 2076. Over the years, community partnerships helped create specialty gardens, wildlife habitats, public art, and educational features enjoyed by generations of Greensboro residents.

Today, the garden remains one of our community's most treasured public spaces.

🌱 Throwback to 1968!

Did you know one of Greensboro Beautiful's earliest anti-litter campaigns started with local students?

After a successful pilot at Grimsley High School, Greensboro Beautiful partnered with local garden clubs to provide personalized litter bags to students. More than 600 blue denim bags featuring school colors and initials were distributed to encourage students to keep Greensboro's streets clean.

More than 50 years later, our commitment to litter prevention remains stronger than ever.

Don’t forget to upload your garden passport by Tuesday, June 9th, for the chance to win a raffle prize! ✨

🪴 At yesterday’s World Promenade event, garden passport activity sheets were handed out at all garden entrances and on shuttle buses. Visitors followed clues around the garden to find various foreign plants and get their passports stamped by vendors.
✈️ They can then scan the QR code on the back of the passport (or follow this link: tinyurl.com/promenadepassport) to fill out a short form, upload a photo of their passport, and be entered for a chance to win exciting prizes, such as Greensboro Grasshoppers tickets, Greensboro Science Center passes, music classes, Spanish tutoring, steel butterfly stakes, and more, all donated by local partners.
🎟️ You do not need all six stamps to enter the raffle! Any number of stamps is able to be entered.
👑 Winners will be drawn and contacted via email in the coming weeks.
