Some lessons never end. Some legacies continue to bloom. 🦋🌸

Jean Williams was a beloved teacher who shared the wonder of the butterfly life cycle with her students year after year. Today, her passion for education and nature lives on through a memorial butterfly garden planted in her honor—a living classroom for generations of people and pollinators to enjoy.

Through Greensboro Beautiful’s Honor & Memorial Programs, you can celebrate someone special, remember a loved one, and create a lasting connection to the beautiful public spaces we all share.

Where memories take root and legacies bloom.

🎨 Before Rainbow Alley, there was another colorful chapter.

In 1981, Greensboro Beautiful worked alongside local organizations, dedicated volunteers, and community partners to transform a weathered downtown wall into a vibrant mural and park celebrating Greensboro's rich history.

Designed and painted by artist Wendy Wallace, the mural honored the city's architectural heritage while inspiring pride in its future. Greensboro Beautiful helped complete the vision with landscaping, benches, and a welcoming park space—proving that beautification and community go hand in hand. 💚💮

🍃 A Place to Pause

Sometimes, a bench is so much more than a place to sit.

It's where conversations happen, books are read, memories are shared, and peaceful moments are found. By sponsoring a bench, you dedicate a place in honor of someone special while creating a welcoming space for others to enjoy.

Every bench becomes part of Greensboro's story.
