Impacted by cuts in Medicaid and SNAP benefits. This information session can help provide additional information and resources to adjust to reduction or loss of certain public benefits.

North Carolina African Services Coalition and The Corners Market Collaboration:
The H.R. 1 Bill stripped refugee families’ eligibility for SNAP and Medicaid. Many families are now scrambling to find food and medical care.
Representatives from NCASC are actively developing alternative resources to support refugee families.
This Saturday NCASC was there to answer questions, and accepted donations that will be used to purchase market gift certificates for distribution to impacted families.

This year's World Refugee Day celebration was a wonderful reminder of what makes our community so strong—people from many backgrounds coming together in a spirit of welcome, friendship, and celebration.

Throughout the day, families connected with local organizations, explored community resources, enjoyed delicious food, watched vibrant cultural performances, and cheered on friendly soccer matches. It was a day filled with laughter, learning, and meaningful connections.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us, volunteered, and helped make the event such a success. Together, we celebrate the resilience, cultures, and contributions of refugees and reaffirm our commitment to building a community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

🚀✨ Week 2 of R.A.C.E. MAD Science Camp is Underway! ✨🚀

R.A.C.E. is excited to partner with M.A.D Science as our scholars begin an exciting second week of camp filled with innovation, entrepreneurship, and hands-on STEM learning!

This week, scholars will continue developing their entrepreneurial skills by learning how to create, package, brand, and market products, building upon the work they started with their custom candle creations. Through these activities, participants gain valuable experience in product development, business planning, creativity, and customer engagement.

🕯️📦💡 From idea to marketplace, our scholars are learning what it takes to turn a vision into a successful product!

We are also taking STEM learning to new heights! Following their drone certification training, each scholar has received their very own drone to practice flying and further develop their skills in aviation technology, precision control, and problem-solving.

🚁🌟 Watching our scholars gain confidence as young entrepreneurs, innovators, and future STEM leaders has been inspiring!

🌟 RACE Scholars & M.A.D. Science Summer Camp: Week One Complete! 🌟
What an incredible way to wrap up the first week of our RACE Scholars & M.A.D. Science Summer Camp!
Today, scholars continued working on their entrepreneurial and technology-based projects, building upon the ideas and skills they developed throughout the week. Participants put their creativity and problem-solving abilities to work as they completed:
🔹 Custom cell phone holders
🔹 Personalized desk signage
🔹 Refrigerator magnets
🔹 Hands-on laser wood-cutting projects

A highlight of the day was learning how to construct a handcrafted pen using a wood shaping machine and specialized woodworking tools. Scholars gained firsthand experience with the precision, patience, and craftsmanship required to transform raw materials into finished products.

Our visit to The Forge brought together the concepts of entrepreneurship and STEM in a meaningful and engaging way. Scholars saw how innovation, technology, creativity, and business ideas intersect through the use of advanced equipment and maker technologies. By designing and creating products themselves, participants experienced how entrepreneurs use STEM skills to develop, produce, and market products that meet real-world needs.

Throughout the week, our scholars demonstrated curiosity, teamwork, creativity, and determination as they explored new technologies, learned valuable workforce skills, and gained confidence in their ability to create and innovate.

Thank you to M.A.D. Science and The Forge for helping provide an unforgettable week of hands-on learning and discovery. We can't wait to see what our scholars accomplish in Week Two!

This week, girls will explore exciting opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics through hands-on activities, engaging workshops, mentorship, and collaborative learning experiences designed to inspire confidence, curiosity, and future career aspirations.
