Want to make some repairs around your home? Does the landscaping in your neighborhood need a facelift?

The problem is you don’t own the appropriate tools and equipment to do the work yourself and you can’t afford to buy or rent those items either.

The solution: The City’s free Neighborhood Toolbox Tool Lending Center!

(Open to all residents living within Greensboro city limits for non-commercial uses only.)

Learn more about the program at www.greensboro-nc.gov/Toolbox and submit your tool loan request for that job you KNOW needs to get done.

Jailen Curtis recently graduated from Dudley High School. Beside him is his strong supporting mother. Some people would have counted him out because in America when you are a black male and you lose a parent before the age 18 life is 10x harder. You deal with emotions and thoughts everyday. The streets seem better than going to school. I got to witness Jailen deal with the pressure of being the oldest and the big brother. He handled it well.I also learned how to deal with the death of my dad while mentoring Jailen. He defeated odds!!! Keep striving Mr.Jailen Curtis. It was meant for us to cross paths Brother. Shoutout to you Tabitha R Mathis job well done!! For ever peace to his dad Cedrick Curtis.

Congrats to the oldest member of Leaders of the New School, Inc.

Young Leaders

Demontra Cooper and Jamel Cobb, two young men that met at North Carolina A&T State University decided to start a mentoring program to change the statistics of young males being suspended, dropping out, and failing in school. They believe that mentoring is vital in every community. They also believe that they have what it takes to reach this generation. Jamel decided that the mentoring program should be called Leaders of the New School.

Leaders of the New School was founded on March 4, 2015 at Northeast Guilford High School in Jamel Cobb Business class. The first mentoring session motivated the founders to form a nonprofit organization. With the help of friend Antione Jones, Leaders of the New School became incorporated on June 20, 2017.

Our mission is to provide guidance to elementary, middle and high school aged males that experience academic and behavioral challenges.
