Dear Community,

After some thoughtful reflection and intention, we’ve decided to slow things down for the month of May. This pause will give us the space to explore some transitions as we look ahead to summer and beyond.

Our final classes for April will be:

Wednesday 6pm with Nichol (tonight)
Saturday 9am with Adrienne
Sunday 10am with Nichol
Tuesday 6pm with Adrienne

While we’ll miss gathering with you in the studio, this feels like a meaningful opportunity to take a collective breath—creating space for clarity, creativity, and alignment in what comes next.

While this may feel sudden, sometimes life brings us unexpected opportunities to practice patience, trust, and non-attachment. I’ve been reflecting a lot on Rumi’s poem The Guest House, and its reminder that every experience—especially the ones we don’t anticipate—arrives with something to teach us if we are willing to stay open.

The act of a gentle pause is powerful. The heart of this community remains strong, and we are deeply grateful for each of you who continue to show up with openness, trust, and presence.

Thank you for being part of this space. We’re looking forward to sharing what comes next and returning with renewed energy and intention for the summer season.

With love and gratitude,
Nichol & Adrienne

The Guest House

This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.

A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.

The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.

Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.

✨NEW WEDNESDAY FORMAT ✨
As we move into April, I’m looking forward to settling into a steady rhythm together and embracing the quiet renewal that spring invites.

As of now, the only planned studio closure is Sunday, April 5, but I’ll be sure to keep you updated if anything changes.

🌿 A Midweek Reset
Wednesdays | 6:00 PM — Rest + Meditation

Our Wednesday 6:00 PM class is staying right where it is—but taking on a new shape.

This offering is evolving into a midweek reset: a space to deepen our connection to ourselves and to each other, and to find strength through meditation and physical rest.

Midweek is a tender threshold. A pause. A place to soften.

Each week, we’ll explore a different meditation practice—sometimes settling into the spacious ease of Yoga Nidra, and other weeks gently working with techniques that support focus, compassion, clarity, and calm.

You don’t need prior experience. You don’t need to “be good” at meditation. You simply need to arrive.

Over time, we may explore:

Mindfulness meditation
Breath and focused attention practices
Loving-kindness (Metta)
Mantra meditation
Body scan & progressive relaxation
Guided visualization
Gentle movement as a pathway into stillness
Yoga Nidra
Some evenings will be quiet and inward. Others may include reflection or gentle conversation. All are rooted in support, accessibility, and shared humanity.

This class is for anyone feeling full, stretched, tired, curious—or simply in need of intentional stillness.

🍃Tonight’s Wednesday 6pm Rest & Meditation class is the perfect midweek blend of gentle movement and guided meditation.

We’ll begin with a simple breath practice and body scan to help us arrive and settle. From there, we’ll move through a few slow, grounded movements designed to gently release tension and relax the body. These movements aren’t about effort or intensity—they’re simply a way to prepare the body so that we can truly rest.

Once the body has softened, we’ll settle into a comfortable reclined position, fully supported by props, and move into a guided open awareness meditation.

Practices like this are especially powerful in the middle of the week. By Wednesday many of us are carrying the buildup of responsibilities, schedules, and the constant pace of daily life. Taking intentional time to pause, breathe, and reconnect with ourselves helps reset the nervous system, restore energy, and bring a little more clarity and steadiness into the rest of the week.

I hope you’ll join us tonight at 6pm for this nourishing practice.

🍃Upcoming Schedule Updates

There are a few adjustments coming up over the next week:

• Saturday at 9am – Adrienne will be teaching
•Sunday at 10am – We’ll have a special guest teacher, Julie
•No class Monday or Wednesday next week
•Tuesday at 6pm – Adrienne will be back to teach

🍃The reason for the brief pause in the schedule is that I’ll be traveling to New York to attend the ADL conference hosted by the Anti-Defamation League.

The work being done through the ADL is incredibly important right now, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn, connect, and continue growing in ways that support the broader community.

I’m especially thankful for this yoga community that values continuing education and supports my professional work outside of the studio. Truly, everything I do beyond our studio walls—whether in community work, education, or advocacy—is an extension of the practice we share together: cultivating awareness, compassion, and connection.

Thank you for being part of this space and for supporting this work in so many ways.

With gratitude,Nichol🕊️

Dear community,

As we look toward the week ahead, I’ve been thinking a lot about strength — the kind that builds slowly through consistency, through showing up, and through community. We still have a little winter work to do before we fully launch into spring. There is grounding happening. There is resilience forming. And so much of that strength comes from doing it together.

Personally, I am in a very full season — with work, parenting, and all the day-to-day responsibilities that come with being human. I know so many of you can relate to that feeling of being stretched thin. I also recently began teaching a 10-week yoga elective at my daughter’s school — something many of you in this community helped make possible by providing props and resources. Watching that ripple outward has meant more to me than I can say.

And still… every single time I sit down on my mat in community, I feel something shift. Even when I feel spread thin or carrying the weight of many responsibilities, I notice resilience building. I notice a softening happening. I am reminded that peace and stillness are available with every breath I take — if I choose to notice them.

Sunday morning especially feels like a beautiful place to begin again.

If you’re looking for a vibrant start to your week — a place to feel energized in your body and connected in community — we would love to welcome you. Slow Flow & Deep Rest offers both movement and grounding, strength and softness. It’s one of my favorite ways to set the tone for the days ahead.

I continue to feel so fortunate to be part of this small but strong circle. Watching connections grow and friendships deepen is something I never take for granted. This space is shaped by you.

🍃Tonight at 6:00 PM, I invite you to join me for a deeply nourishing Yoga Nidra practice.

Yoga Nidra, often called “yogic sleep,” is a guided meditation done entirely lying down. There is no movement required — just blankets, stillness, and a willingness to rest. It’s a powerful practice for calming the nervous system, releasing tension, and creating space for clarity and healing.

With the recent cold snap in the air after those teasingly warm days, I’ve been reminded that it is still winter. We are still in a season of grounding. Even though my heart is beginning to long for spring, I’m gently reminded to stay in thismoment — to allow life to be exactly as it is instead of rushing it forward.

That’s what this practice offers. A pause. A softening. A chance to settle into the present without needing to change it.

If you’ve been feeling overstimulated, overtired, or simply in need of deep rest, this class is for you. No experience is necessary — just come as you are.

✨ Wednesday | 6:00 PMYoga Nidra with Nichol

Wear something comfortable and feel free to bring anything that helps you feel extra cozy (we’ll also have props available at the studio).

I would love to hold this space for you.

With love,Nichol 💛

Hello Beautiful Community,

We’re excited to highlight two special opportunities to practice with Adrienne this week — each offering something a little different, but equally nourishing for your body and mind.

✨ Tuesday at 6:00 PM – Myofascial Release
This Tuesday evening, Adrienne will guide us through a deeply therapeutic Myofascial Release class. Using gentle pressure and intentional movement, this practice helps release tension in the fascia (the connective tissue surrounding your muscles), improve mobility, and reduce lingering tightness.

It’s slow, mindful, and incredibly effective — perfect if you’re feeling tight from workouts, long hours at a desk, or simply the pace of life. You’ll leave feeling lighter, more open, and deeply restored.

✨ Saturday at 9:00 AM – Gentle Stretch & Slow Flow
Start your weekend with ease. Adrienne’s Saturday morning class blends gentle stretching with a slow, intentional flow to wake up the body without rushing it. Expect mindful movement, accessible transitions, and plenty of space to breathe.

This class is welcoming for all levels and is a beautiful way to set the tone for a calm and grounded weekend.

Whether you’re looking to release deep tension on Tuesday or move slowly and intentionally on Saturday, Adrienne creates a supportive space where you can meet your body exactly where it is.

We can’t wait to see you on the mat.

With love,
Nichol & Adrienne 🌿

Dear Ahava Community 🌿

It feels so good to be back in the studio and settled into our regular rhythm again. There’s something powerful about returning to the mat together — breathing together, moving together, remembering what steadiness feels like.

This morning’s full class filled my heart. We spent time exploring the balance of ease and effort — how strength and softness can coexist. Not forcing. Not collapsing. But meeting each moment with both intention and gentleness.

As T.K.V. Desikachar beautifully said,

“The success of yoga does not lie in the ability to perform postures but in how it positively changes the way we live our life and our relationships.”

May you carry that balance of effort and ease into your week — in your work, your conversations, your rest, and your movement. I’m wishing each of you a peaceful week ahead, one where you find steadiness without strain and softness without surrendering your strength.

Here’s our Weekly Class Schedule:

Sunday10:00 AM — Slow Flow & Deep Rest w/ Nichol

Monday6:00 PM — Steady & Strong Flow w/ Nichol

Tuesday6:00 PM — Gentle Stretch w/ Adrienne

Wednesday6:00 PM — Deep Stretch & Meditation w/ Nichol

Saturday9:00 AM — Slow Flow & Gentle Stretch w/ Adrienne

💫 Class Packages• 10-Class Pass — $90 (save $10)• 20-Class Pass — $170 (save $30)• 30-Class Pass — $240 (save $60)

We are so grateful for this community and the energy you bring into the room. Thank you for showing up — for yourselves and for each other.

Just a little reminder that I’ll be stepping away from social media on the 30th, and I’d really love to stay in touch.

I’ll be using the studio newsletter and email list to share updates about classes and other offerings—so if you haven’t signed up yet, you can do that at ahava-collective.com. My email and phone number are there too.

Of course, I’d love to see you in class—but a text, phone call, or even a walk and a cup of coffee together would be just as lovely.

Let’s stay connected. 💛

After much reflection, Beginning June 30, I will officially step away from social media. This isn’t a decision I’ve made lightly—it comes from a deep desire to live more intentionally, to reconnect with what truly matters, and to be more present in my relationships and daily life.
I’ve realized that the constant stream of content, opinions, and news—especially the heaviness of our world’s pain and conflict—can leave me feeling overwhelmed and depleted. I want to consume information thoughtfully, not reactively, and be more discerning about what I allow into my heart and mind.
More than anything, I want to return to building meaningful, person-to-person connections. I believe that true community and healing happen not through algorithms or curated posts, but through conversations, shared experiences, and genuine presence.
And while this decision feels right and necessary, I’ll admit—there is some fear. Fear about how stepping away from social media might affect class participation or how people will stay connected to what’s happening at the studio. But I trust the bond we’ve built together over the years. I trust in the resilience of this community and in the intention we’ve always shared. I believe that through more grounded and intentional ways of connecting, we can deepen our practices and grow an even stronger, more supportive community—together.
All studio correspondence will come through newsletters, emails, and text messages. I also have printed flyers available if you'd like to help share our offerings in your circles or local spaces—we’d love your support in spreading the word.
So for now, you won’t find me online—but I hope you’ll find me in the ways that matter most: in a class, a text, a conversation, or a visit. I’m still here. I’m still listening. And I’m always open to meaningful connection.

With love and presence,

Nichol
