Good day all, Carolina Clay Guild is back live starting 10/9/2021 at the Leonard Recreation Center as usual. We are fortunate to have Amanda Bury as our presenter. Please view her bio and pictures with this posting.
IT IS IMPERATIVE YOU RSVP TO THIS EVENT AS WE CAN ONLY ACCOMMODATE 18 FOLKS. PLEASE RSVP TO TERESA SULLIVAN AT [email protected]. She will confirm with you if you have a slot. Sorry for the limitations but COVID is still calling the shots. As always, we will have a brief business meeting at the beginning. I don't believe any dues have been collected this year, so feel free to pay those as well. That means you will get two workshops for the cost of $20.00, still a great deal.
About Amanda . . .
"Amanda is a studio potter based in Advance, NC. Her work pays homage to the origins of our food and the complex natural and man-made systems in place that bring it to our tables. Through her soft altering and refining techniques Amanda creates forms that mimic nature's geometric language. In this demonstration Amanda will show some of her altering techniques while creating a hexagon yunomi cup with a trimmed foot and a triangle bowl with cut feet. Amanda will also discuss how the geometry of her forms informs surface decisions involving colored slip and image placement. Examples of finished work will also be discussed and available for purchase."
