Did you know? 🌈

LGBTQ+ individuals are twice as likely to struggle with their mental health than heterosexual people (NSDUH, 2016). While belonging to the q***r community can offer incredible strength and support, LGBTQ+ people often battle with feelings of isolation, rejection from family and friends, and internalized shame or fear.

Teenagers who identify as LGBTQ+ are FOUR times as likely to attempt su***de than their heterosexual peers, according to a CDC study.

If you or someone you love is struggling with your mental health, you are not alone. Don't wait to get help.

Connect with a local LGBTQ+ center or schedule an appointment with our counseling staff by contacting our intake team: [email protected] / (336) 387-6161.

✨ Did you know? ✨

Every story we hear... every survivor we serve... reminds us that healing is never one-size-fits-all.

At the intersection of the issues we seek to address - domestic violence, child abuse, mental health and substance use, and financial instability - we see how deeply systems impact people’s lives.

And we also see a critical gap: too often, the unique experiences of women and girls (and non-binary individuals) have been overlooked in the very research meant to support their health and safety.

💜 When women are underrepresented in medical studies, critical differences in how trauma, mental health conditions, substance use, and even medications affect them can be missed.
💜 When gender-specific data is lacking, survivors may not receive the care, treatment, or support they truly need.
💜 When research doesn’t reflect real lives, inequities are reinforced rather than resolved.

For the communities we serve, especially survivors of violence and families navigating crisis, equitable, inclusive research isn’t just important. It’s essential.

Because when women are seen in the data, they are better supported in real life.
