For the past 20 years, Center City Park has proudly served as the home of the Freedom Run, welcoming thousands of runners, walkers, volunteers, and cheering fans every Independence Day. 🇺🇸🏃

Celebrating more than 50 years, the Freedom Run remains the Triad's longest-running endurance race. While the course has evolved over the decades, one thing hasn't changed: it brings our community together.

Whether you're chasing a personal best, walking with family, or simply cheering from the sidelines, we're honored our parks have been part of this Greensboro tradition for two decades.

⚽️ The forecast is calling for 90 minutes of world-class soccer and a strong chance of sunscreen.

Join us Friday, June 26, as Norway takes on France on the giant GMA/FirstPoint Screen in LeBauer Park. Kickoff is at 3 PM, but the pre-match festivities start at noon.

🍔 Food trucks + Parkside Pull-Up + Lawn Service by Little Brother Brewing

It's going to be a warm afternoon, so bring your refillable water bottle, sunscreen, and your loudest cheering voice. We'll take care of the rest.

Game plan: Blankets are welcome. Chairs, coolers, tents, and pets stay on the bench. ➡️

🌦️ This event is rain or shine. In the event of severe weather, staff will direct guests to shelter in their cars, the Greensboro Cultural Center, or Church Street Parking Garage until play can resume.

From festival stages to lunchtime performances, live music has always had a home in our parks.

Over the years, hundreds of musicians have performed in LeBauer Park and Center City Park. Some have played for packed crowds during major events and festivals. Others have provided the soundtrack to an afternoon lunch break, or a a family outing.

Today, that tradition is still going strong.

These days, the music keeps playing all week long. Enjoy lunch with Steel Drum Music by the Pan Man on Wednesdays, 11am-1pm; sip a cold beer during Music in a Bottle at Lawn Service on Wednesdays, 6-8pm; and enjoy a cup of joe or mimosa during Sunday Sessions at Lawn Service, 11am-1pm.

The artists may change, but the goal remains the same: creating welcoming spaces where people can gather, connect, and enjoy a little live music together.

Calling all kings, queens, warriors, and superheroes. 🖤

Join us on June 20 for a free showing of Black Panther and an evening celebrating the spirit of Wakanda.

Arrive by 7 PM and come dressed in your best cosplay. Before the movie, Sistah Amahkle of LaMoves Afroblendz will lead an interactive Afro-diaspora dance and empowerment experience from 7:45–8:15 PM.

Grab dinner from Safari Eatz or Parkside Pull-Up, satisfy your sweet tooth with Cailee Belle’s Sweet Shoppe, and try Lawn Service by Little Brother Brewing's specialty "T'Challa Chai" inspired by the evening's feature film.

The movie begins at sunset (approximately 8:30 PM).

Flashback Friday 🌿

A decade ago, many of the trees, shrubs, and gardens that help define our downtown parks were just getting started.

Since then, they've grown alongside the community and provided the perfect backdrop for concerts, festivals, lunch breaks, family photos, and countless everyday moments.

This week, our team was hard at work pruning and preparing these spaces for another season of growth. It's the kind of work most visitors never see, but it helps ensure our parks remain ready for whatever memories come next.

Some things change over the years. Some things just keep growing.
