We are so sad to learn that our dear Alice Drake has passed away.

In 2015, after learning of us through our engagement with Misty Copeland, she asked us to come teach a Ballet class to the kids she served at the East White Oak Community Center. From there we were inseparable, we started adding more and more dance classes until we were running classes there and the kids were even in our recitals.

It was a beautiful partnership that got cut short in 2017 when the floor at the East White Oak Community Center needed to be repaired and it was a danger for us to dance. We waited patiently for the work to get complete, but then COVID hit and the After School program phased out.

Some of our best moments and best work happened because of Ms. Drake's vision for the East White Oak Community. She had the ideas, we came up with the ex*****on. We will be forever grateful for Ms. Alice picking up the phone to call and what started a beautiful partnership.

Today, we have taken lessons learned and continue the work at Black Child Development, D-UP, and within our own walls.

Thank you Ms. Alice and rest well.
