Greensboro Housing Coalition

Greensboro Housing Coalition The Greensboro Housing Coalition is a referral, informational, and educational organization, assisting clients with a variety of housing problems. We can help.

You can too - get involved with your coalition today!! Greensboro Housing Coalition started with a small group of outspoken housing advocates whose ideas were often unwelcome intrusions into “business as usual” for local officials, developers and landlords. Today, these same people view GHC staff as respected housing experts. We have a “seat at the table” with policy makers, non-profits, and busin

esses working with housing issues. We have been able to engage with leaders in sensitive topics such as racial discrimination in housing opportunities, and the relationship between health and substandard housing. The housing crisis, the economic crisis, and the interest in sustainability have created a wave of momentum for GHC’s influence.

One notice. A few hours.

And entire lives packed into large U-Hauls.

This week, families at a local Studio 6 were forced out overnight—leaving behind not just a place to stay, but a community they built together.

Kids grew up there. Families shared meals. It was home.

GHC showed up immediately—but the truth is, this will happen again. And we need to be ready.

For many families, rising housing costs mean making difficult choices. Some may have to choose between paying rent, buying groceries, or covering medical expenses. These trade offs can create long-term challenges and increase the risk of housing instability.

Stable housing allows families to focus on their health, education, and future.

At Greensboro Housing Coalition, we believe housing stability supports stronger communities.
