Calling all volunteers! Tree planting opportunity on April 28th and 29th.

If you would like to make a direct personal contribution to improving water quality and mitigating stormwater erosion in the Lamoille please join the Stream Wise team and the Caledonia County Natural Resources Conservation District to plant 500 trees on Tuesday April 28th and Wednesday April 29th along the Haynesville Brook in Hardwick just south of the junction of Routes 15 and 16

You could volunteer to support the whole planting, one day or just a couple of hours. Every bit helps. We will begin at 9.30am each day and finish by 5pm. Lunch will be provided. We will provide all instruction needed on site and no prior experience is necessary. The trees are stems and so not heavy to lift and carry.

This planting, and the wider work of Stream Wise, in the Upper Lamoille is supported by the Lake Champlain Basin Program, the Greensboro Association and the Caledonia and Orleans County Natural Resources Conservation Districts.

If you are interested in supporting this important work please contact Jed Feffer at 301-801-7164 or [email protected] to find out more.

The Orleans County Natural Resources Conservation District (OCNRCD) snagged another State Clean Water grant that will allow OCNRCD to work with FluidState Consulting to continue our work to design a Clean Water Project for Caspian Lake Public Beach.

Will Marlier is taking lead on this project, which has a goal to improve water quality, shoreland habitat, and public enjoyment with practices like rain gardens, pedestrian pathways, and other stormwater management. (The dam is out of scope for this work)

We'd love for you to get involved! You can fill out a quick online survey (Link below) and swing by a Community Forum at the Highland Center for the Arts on Thursday, September 25th, from
6:30 - 8:00 PM. Will Marlier, Dana Allen (FluidState Consulting), and a panel of local leaders will be there to give you information on the project and answer any questions.

Got questions that can’t wait? Don't hesitate to reach out to Will Marlier at [email protected] or (802) 624-7023.

There have been a lot of questions asked of the Greensboro Association this summer about Caspian Lake’s levels and who’s involved with communicating with the state and making decisions on levels and testing. Because of that, we have created this FAQ document with as much information as we can to help inform the community. Please reach out to those listed at the bottom of the FAQ if you have additional questions.

Further to recent discussions on the level of Caspian Lake this message is intended to help clarify how the lake level is currently managed. The Greensboro Association (GA), which was formed over 90 years ago with a goal of protecting Caspian Lake, comprises a group of volunteer members – the Wate...

A big thank you to all who came to our Annual Meeting yesterday afternoon. A great discussion was had, the food was delicious, and the conversations plentiful. A big thanks to Jennifer Ranz for letting us use her barn once again.

We will continue our mission to advance initiatives that connect and enhance our greater Greensboro community, protect our lakes and environment, and support a vibrant local economy. And we can do that work because of the support of all of our members. Thank YOU for helping us achieve that mission.
