Today we received a plea from one of our county shelters that had completely filled every available cage. They were facing the heartbreaking reality that if more animals arrived, difficult decisions could have to be made for those already in their care.

Thanks to our incredible foster network and supporters, we were able to step up and clear out seven cages, creating much-needed space for animals in urgent need.

Now we need your help.

If you’ve been thinking about adding a furry family member, please stop by our adoption center at PetSmart, 1206 Bridford Parkway, Greensboro. We have some absolutely beautiful cats and kittens waiting for their forever homes. You can also view all of our adoptable pets at julietshouse.org.

Every adoption creates space for us to continue helping the kittens and cats who need us most. The faster we can move animals into loving homes, the more lives we can save.

And by the way… Twinkletoes is going to make somebody an absolutely amazing family member. 💙🐾

Thank you for helping us be there when our community and animal shelters need us most.

Meet Nugget — a tiny, scruffy little guy who’s had a rough start. 🤍

He came to us today from a county shelter feeling pretty crummy, and we’re excited to spoil him with lots of extra love and care tonight. 💔

At just 7.6 ounces and around two weeks old, Nugget is malnourished for his age and is dealing with an upper respiratory infection.

Even though he’s not feeling his best, he absolutely loved his bottle feeding and seemed so content to have a full belly. 🍼

For now, Nugget will hang out in isolation while he gets stronger and starts feeling better. Once he’s healthy and tested for FeLV and FIV, he’ll get to join other kittens his age and finally enjoy all the fun kitten stuff — playing, cuddling, and causing a little chaos.

Welcome to Juliet’s House, little guy.

You may remember these tiny brothers from April 18 — the little babies who arrived after their mom abandoned the nest when the area was disturbed. Sadly, two of the kittens had already passed away before help arrived, but these two fighters held on.

One of the babies even had fly strike, with fly eggs attached to his fur — something that can quickly become life-threatening for fragile neonatal kittens.

Look at them now. 🤍
The bottles are gone, they’re officially big kids, and they’ve come such a long way from those scary first days.

Meet Smokey Lonesome and Buddy — both named after characters from the movie Fried Green Tomatoes. Their names fit them perfectly: Smokey Lonesome has that old-soul, quiet strength feel, while Buddy represents loyalty, love, and resilience. Tiny survivors with big stories to tell. 🐾

Meet Darcy, a new arrival, and Willow, one of our 3½-month-old pups. They may be very different in size, but they are definitely equal in activity level. As you can see… two pups are always a lot more fun than one and I think Willow is a great puppy sitter!

If you’re interested in either of these sweet girls, apply at julietshouse.org.

Friday afternoon, we got an urgent call about seven tiny kittens needing rescue before the holiday weekend. Neonatal kittens require constant feedings, warmth, and monitoring — care many shelters cannot provide overnight.

Thanks to an amazing volunteer, the kittens made it safely into rescue, where two dedicated fosters split the litter to provide around-the-clock care.

And here’s the fun surprise: several are polydactyls! 🐾 These “Hemingway cats” were born with extra toes, giving them adorable mitten-like paws.

These seven are safe tonight because people stepped up when it mattered most. Rescue truly takes a village. 🤍

Meet Pearl she is about 6 weeks old and was trapped from a feral colony after spending the beginning of her life outside. While she’s still learning that humans can be kind and safe, she is very well adjusted.

It’s always amazing to watch kittens like Pearl realize they no longer have to survive… they can simply be babies. 🐾

Happy National Rescue Dog Day!
Today we’re celebrating three very special pups who beat the odds and are now ready to find their forever families — River, Willow, and Reed.

These little ones came to us as tiny bottle babies, and thanks to lots of love (and many late‑night feedings), they’ve grown into the sweetest trio you’ll ever meet.

They’re everything you could want in a puppy:

• Sweet and snuggly — they’ve been held since day one
• Smart and curious — quick learners with big personalities
• Water‑loving adventurers — splash time is their favorite time
• Playful and joyful — guaranteed to brighten your day

And here’s a fun one…
Can you guess their breed mix?
We know the answer — but we want to see your guesses first. Drop them below and we’ll reveal it later today!

If you’re interested in giving one of these bottle‑raised babies a forever home, apply at JulietsHouse.org.

Meet one of our many new arrivals who started life under the hardest of circumstances. This little one was found alone in a driveway, placenta still attached and her tiny body dangerously cold.

We held back on sharing her story at first because, honestly, her odds seemed poor. But this little girl has reminded us never to count out the incredible babies who have the will to fight. We give them every tool and every chance we can… and often they amaze us.

When she arrived, she weighed just 75 grams (2.6 ounces) and struggled for every breath. Today, she’s over 200 grams (7 ounces) and finally starting to enjoy the little milestones that make neonatal rescue so special.

At 3 weeks old, she has fully opened her eyes and officially entered her toddling era — wobbly little steps, big stretches, and curious attempts to explore the world around her.

She’s still tiny for her age and very much on her own timeline, but she continues proving that progress doesn’t have to be fast to be meaningful. Tiny fighters have a way of surprising us. 🤍

This little boy arrived Friday after a shelter asked if we had space for a kitten needing a little extra TLC.

He came to us with a ruptured eye, likely caused by severe trauma or infection. A ruptured eye is no longer functional or repairable, and we’ve covered it in photos because we know it may be difficult for some people to see.

Right now, he weighs just around one pound, so our focus is keeping him comfortable, helping him get healthy, and giving him time to grow stronger. Once he is over two pounds and big enough to safely undergo anesthesia, his damaged eye will be removed.

Despite everything he has been through, he is sweet, resilient, and already soaking up the love.

You may remember the four tiny kittens who arrived about two weeks ago after being found wandering alone into the middle of a busy highway. Somehow, despite everything, they survived long enough for help to find them. ❤️

We’re happy to share that they are doing well and have officially started weaning off the bottle — a huge milestone!

They did hit one small hiccup along the way: a mild case of feline calicivirus. Calicivirus can cause a variety of symptoms in kittens, including upper respiratory issues, oral ulcers, fever, and something commonly called “limping syndrome.” In their case, the virus caused temporary inflammation and soreness in their joints, making them walk with an odd little limp and appear uncomfortable at times.

Thankfully, their case has been mild, and with supportive care, rest, good nutrition, and lots of TLC, they are continuing to improve every day. Watching them go from fragile highway babies to playful, growing kittens has been such a reminder of how resilient these little lives can be. 🐾

We have 2 boys and 2 girls — and they still need names! Help us think of some special names for these little highway survivors. ❤️
