Last night as the severe storms rumbled through Hale County several homes and outbuildings were damaged or destroyed. Most of the damage was in the Sawyerville area but damage and downed trees were reported as far as County Rd 49 in North Hale County. Thanks to an outpouring of help from every volunteer fire department in the county. Hale County EMS, Hale County Sheriff’s Department, Greensboro PD, Moundville PD and Hale County E 911.
Today was all about clean up and getting the power back on. Alabama Power and Black Warrior Electric have been awesome with setting so many new poles and restoring power all over the county. Only a few costumers remain out and should be back on soon.
Today was one of the best days for EMA seeing so many neighbors helping neighbors. We had crews out helping but to see so much of the community helping others get life back to normal was just overwhelming.

Tornado watch for Hale until 4 am

Great job tonight to the first responders that helped look for the 2 lost hunters in the Talladega National Forrest. It was a really cold night and the hunters are very appreciative of such an effort to find them. They were found at approximately 8:30 this morning. Thanks to Alabama Game and Fish, Alabama Forestry Commission. Alabama Lands Division, Bibb County SO, Hale County SO, Hale County EMS, Greensboro VFD, Friendship VFD, Newbern VFD, Gallion VFD, Marion VFD, Alabama EMA, Perry County EMA, Bibb County EMA and Tuscaloosa PD aviation unit.

At 8:47pm Greensboro Fire responded to a second mobile home fire in the same mobile home community. This fire was also contained within 10 minutes, but the mobile home was a total loss. No injuries were reported. Special thanks to Greensboro Fire Department.

At 7:54pm Greensboro Fire responded to a mobile home fire with possible subject inside. Within 10 minutes Greensboro Fire had fire contained but mobile home was a total loss. No injuries were reported. Special thanks to Greensboro Fire Department and Hale County 911.
