Calling all Anytown grads!

We’re heading back to Blowing Rock for an Anytown Family Reunion, and we want to see Anytowners from across the years come back together.

October 1–4 | Blowing Rock, NC

Come reconnect with your Anytown people, meet alumni from other years, and spend a weekend back in the community that started at camp.

A little camera clean-up, and a whole lot of Anytown energy. 💙

We kicked off the 2026–27 Youth Ambassador Program with our first gathering of the school year! The Ambassador Program gives Anytown alumni a way to stay connected after camp through leadership, service, civic engagement, and, of course, plenty of time just being together.

If you’re a high school student who has attended Anytown, the Youth Ambassador Program is for you! There’s no application and no requirement to attend every meeting. Join us whenever you can.

We’ll be meeting throughout the school year, so Anytown families, keep an eye on your email and texts for upcoming dates and opportunities.

Anytown may only last a week. The community lasts a whole lot longer. 💙

NCCJ is excited to honor Joyce Johnson of Beloved Community Center as one of this year's honorees at the 60th Annual Citation Award Dinner on November 12. She and her late husband, the Rev. Nelson Johnson, organized Greensboro's Truth and Reconciliation Commission after the 1979 Greensboro Massacre. This was the first such commission in the United States and is the subject of The Morning Side Dialogues: the 1979 Greensboro Massacre And The Struggle For An America City's Soul by Aran Shetterly.

Join the Beloved Community Center and the City of Greensboro this Thursday, August 27th at 6 pm at the Central Library for a discussion around the book.

The series, titled "The Morningside Dialogues: Facing Our Past, Shaping Our Future," invites residents to explore the history, impact, and continued relevance of the events described in the book. Light refreshments will be served. This will be the last discussion in the series.

The author will be at the event. We hope to see you there!

Anytown doesn’t end when camp does. 💙

We kicked off a new school year with our Anytown Reunion and the first gathering of this year’s Youth Ambassador Program! It was so good to see Anytowners from different sessions and different years back together, reconnecting, meeting new people, playing games, and just hanging out.

📣 Reminder for our Anytown families: The Youth Ambassador Program is open to all high school students who have attended Anytown. There’s no application or extra commitment required. Come when you can!

We’ll have Ambassador meetings and activities throughout the school year, so keep an eye on your email and text messages for details about what’s coming next.

We can’t wait to spend the year with you. 💙

Are you an Anytown grad? We want to see you October 1-4 at Blowing Rock Conference Center for the ANYTOWN FAMILY REUNION.
This event is open to anyone (21+) that has graduated from Anytown or served on Anytown staff since the very beginning.
We’ll have campfires, songs, friendship bracelets, a talent show, and some NCCJ programs. Join us for the full weekend or Saturday only and relive your time on the mountain.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of our longtime volunteer and friend, Peter Peiffer.

Peter was one of those people who truly lived his values. He cared deeply about our community, about equity, and about building a better future for young people. His commitment to NCCJ was never just words. He gave generously of his time, his resources, his humor, and his heart.

Peter had such a way with teenagers. He loved our Anytown kids, and they loved him right back. He was funny, warm, curious, and genuinely interested in what young people had to say. For many years, he showed up for them and for NCCJ because he believed in what they could become and in the future they could help build.

Peter had a true servant’s heart. We were incredibly lucky to have him as part of the Anytown family.

We will miss him deeply, and we are so grateful for the many years we had with him. His impact on NCCJ and on generations of young people will stay with us.

Our hearts are with Nancy and the entire Peiffer family.
