This past weekend, CWS Greensboro and the Integration Working Group welcomed 17 refugee and immigrant youth, ages 15–25, for our Coffee & Convos listening session.
Together, we talked about leadership, civic engagement, advocacy, and what it means for young people to have a voice in shaping the communities they call home.
What made this gathering powerful was not just the conversation, but the energy in the room. Young people shared their experiences, asked thoughtful questions, and began imagining what a dedicated space for refugee and immigrant youth leadership could look like here in Greensboro.
A big thank you to Melt N’ Bean for being so welcoming and accommodating. We are grateful for community partners who help create spaces where connection, conversation, and leadership can grow.
This is just the beginning.
If you know refugee or immigrant youth between the ages of 15–25 who may be interested in getting involved, we would love to connect with them.
