Thanksgiving will never be the same as it was once was without your laughter and humor and just you

Two years ago we had all talked about you three doing a turkey trot but it never became a thing. But today Eric (Daddy) and Katie were “Huffin for the Stuffin” at the Cape Carteret Turkey Trot. They wore their Addie’s Two Thumbs Up for Addie tshirts. You were so missed and thought of plenty today. 💕💛💕

“It was on part of a rock formation that was by our campfire area last night. Between the “Sand Star Camp” and the Sand Rose Camp- Hillawi Camp. The weather there was fantastic and extremely quiet and peaceful. Her rock is in a crevice where it won’t be found but will still have a view of Wadi Rum for inshallah forever! I’m glad her rock can join the thousands of others in this unique place. Long Live Addie و الله

Addie’s Memorial Garden at CEC. We are so grateful for Childhood Enrichment Center , Kids Ahead, and the many preschool administrators and teachers who donated and made this beautiful garden happen. We are beyond blessed to have this sanctuary amongst the area for all to enjoy.

Today UNCW had a brick memorial service for students and staff that had passed away this past year. Addie was honored with words and received a brick, and supported in attendance by her grandparents, Evon Berting and Tom Berting, her Aunt Ashley Berting Jones and cousin Ellie. They shared what a beautiful service and tribute it was. Thank you to her friends Anna DuPuis, Oliva and Li Yan, and Seth Jiles for coming too. We love you sweet girl Addie Carwile! Oh how I wish you were wrapping up your sophomore year. 💙💚

So many shout outs to so many people - noting just a couple

- thank you to Mulch Men - Eric S and Brian L spearheading mulch at Addie’s bench with some muscle from Kevin, Stu, Jonathan, Jim and Jimmy.
- thank you to my always present playgroup mamas. They made Westminster youth dinner tonight in Addie’s honor and served some of her favorites (chili, cornbread, cheerwine and strawberry cupcakes).

Today has been a day to celebrate you Addie Carwile on your Golden Birthday! 20 on the 20th. We asked family, friends and community to do a good deed so we could have at least 20 good deeds in honor of your golden birthday. They didn’t disappoint.

Several people have (including my own preschool class) donated to the SPCA of the Triad, or to their own animal rescue groups or other organizations like Juliette’s House or even an nonprofit called Addie and Baylor Foundation. Some people gave extra tips to wait staff. Some people are making dinner for the WPC youth group. Some are collecting food for the Grimsley Goods pantry. Girl Scout cookies were bought for others. A F3 workout was honored with your golden age number. Some are going to help put mulch around your bench. All the texts and emails and posts are 20+ of good deeds. Thought about listing all the names but didn’t want to leave anyone out.

We wanted to add to the list ourselves on this special day so Dad and I delivered cookies to Morehead Elementary, cheesecake to Westminster, took the preschool donations to the SPCA, and a few more things.

And your birthday was honored with luminaries and signs and pink lights all over Greensboro. Started the day off at a fav of Waffle House with Poppy and Grammy and ended at Cugino Forno with cannoli and gelato .

In Memory of Sweet Addie and in honor of her what would be her upcoming 2️⃣0️⃣th birthday on February 2️⃣0️⃣th, I spent $2️⃣0️⃣ on Girl Scout Cookies.
The cookies were happily donated in her sweet name to our local police department.
