Why We Are
Greater Legacy Coalition (GLC) addresses the sociocultural disparities, and inequity of services experienced by our families, children and communities; and to organize our communities for collective action resulting in social change to obtain self-determination, wellness, justice and prosperity towards their collective LEGACIES.

Who We Are
Formed in 2019, Greater Legacy Coalition
is an alliance of culturally-specific community based organizations and individuals with representation from the communities of faith, family, finance and fitness; all focused on the underlying agenda to see lower socioeconomic and sociocultural homes within our region gain access to holistic assistance that will change the trajectory of their family history. The supports a collective racial justice effort to improve outcomes for communities of color through policy analysis and advocacy, culturally-appropriate data and research, and leadership development in communities of color
Our Heart
The discussion must begin to shift towards a more inclusive language that affords lower economic communities to become apart of holistic wellbeing while, in the comfort of their current spaces. The concern can not be shaped around defining the said community as âbadâ, yet there must be an intentional study and implementation of not initiatives and events alone, but a means of revitalization and cultivation of the community beginning with culture.
Culture is defined by the social genetic makeup of its people. Each providing their own individualism and diversity, add to the overall value and substance of what the community is. In hopes of changing the dynamic of âgood & badâ neighborhoods the Coalition for Greater Homes has been established. The dictionary would define Legacy as a gift or a bequest, that is handed down, endowed or conveyed from one person to another. The social impact of LEGACY is its significance in establishing longevity and societal endowment for the benefit of others later to come. We at the Coalition for Greater Legacy, believe that these communities should have the opportunity to establish a lasting legacy in their foundation towards sustainability and success. Our dream is to see each communities narrative change. That there are more inclined to add value to the community because of its new worth and investments.
