When was the last time you spent an hour and a half having a conversation with a complete stranger?
Today, our 10th–12th grade members did just that!
We officially launched SUITed to Lead, a new initiative of The Black Suit Initiative designed to bring back something that’s becoming increasingly rare: the art of face-to-face conversation.
But first, can we talk about how impressive it is to see teenage young men willingly get up on a Saturday morning, put on their suits and ties, and spend their time engaging in meaningful conversations with adults they’ve never met?
No phones. No screens. Just good old-fashioned conversation over games of chess, checkers, Scrabble, and puzzles!
And let me tell you, the competitive spirits came ALIVE! 😂 There was plenty of laughter, friendly competition, strategic thinking, and, most importantly, GREAT conversation.
Our young men sat across from men of different ages, backgrounds, professions, and life experiences. What started as a simple game became an opportunity to ask questions, exchange perspectives, build confidence, and make meaningful connections.
In a world where we’re more digitally connected than ever, we’re intentionally creating opportunities for our young men to connect PERSONALLY.
A heartfelt thank you to the gentlemen who gave their time today. You didn’t just play a game. You invested in a young man’s future.
And to our young men, you were just as impressive as the gentlemen sitting across from you. You represented yourselves, your families, and The Black Suit Initiative exceptionally well. We couldn’t be prouder!
