What a day!

Thank you to the parents, families, community partners, and supporters who came out yesterday to support our BSI-Greensboro young men at the Right Now Business Showcase. Your encouragement helped make this event a tremendous success.

We were blown away by the creativity, confidence, and professionalism displayed as our young men pitched the business concepts they’ve spent months developing.

And for those asking who won…

You’ll have to wait until after our End-of-Year Luncheon next week to find out!

🚀 The Competition Is On! 🚀

On Saturday, June 6 at 11:00 AM, eight middle and high school teams from BSI-Greensboro will go head-to-head in the ultimate "Right Now" Business Competition to determine whose business idea, product, and presentation will rise to the top!

Join us at The Bridge Marketplace (404 E. Market St., Greensboro) and experience the creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit of these incredible young business owners as they showcase products they have developed from the ground up.

This year, two of our teams had the unique opportunity to work alongside a business mentor, during product development. Our middle school team, Secret Scents, has created two deliciously scented products, but the fragrances are a closely guarded secret. You'll have to stop by and experience them for yourself! Meanwhile, our high school team has taken a natural approach to self-care by developing an all-natural deodorant, Pure Petal, infused with subtle essential oil fragrance.

From unique products to creative branding and sales pitches, these young entrepreneurs have been working hard and are ready to impress.

Stop by between 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM to sample products, support local youth, and cast your vote for your favorite business. And stay tuned—there are more teams and products still to be revealed!

Who will take home the title? Come see for yourself!

Will Evergreen Pantry bring home the title? Their team will be serving pickles that pack a punch — perfect for snacking or adding to your favorite sandwich. Not a fan of spice? Cool things down with a sample of their refreshing Ginger Honeybush Pear Tea.

While the holiday weekend took away some of our members, those who remained showed incredible devotion, discipline, and commitment to growth.

Today, our middle and high school young men had the privilege of learning from
Geovanni Hood, Founder of Charmed School of Etiquette. He poured into them invaluable lessons on business etiquette, professional presence, and life skills they can carry for years to come. More importantly, he intentionally spoke words of empowerment into each young man individually, reminding them of their value, potential, and purpose.

And of course…every gentleman left knowing how to properly tie a tie.

Excellence looks good, but it’s not cheap. 🖤

It’s that time of year again as we prepare to honor our first-year members of The Black Suit Initiative with a full black suit. We are incredibly grateful for the community partners, donors, and supporters who continue to invest in our young men and help make this moment possible.

What many people may not realize is the wide range of needs we serve as our young men continue to grow:
▪️ Suit sizes range from size 14 Boys suit through Men’s size 54
▪️ Shoe sizes from youth 6.5 to men’s size 16
▪️ Dress shirts, ties, belts, socks, and professional accessories
▪️ Dry cleaning, replacements, and alterations to ensure every young man looks confident, polished, and prepared

To fully outfit one young man with a complete suit, shoes, and accessories can cost between $200–$350 depending on sizing and alterations.

Every suit represents more than clothing. It represents confidence, dignity, opportunity, and a young man being reminded that he matters.

Our greatest need right now is assistance with replacing, altering, and dry cleaning suits for young men who have outgrown last year’s suits. As our young men continue to grow, so do the needs.

If you would like to sow into the future of these young men, we invite you to support this mission through the link below. Your generosity truly makes a difference.

In June, 8 BSI-Greensboro middle and high school teams will compete for community votes as they present their “right now” business concepts during our Entrepreneurship Showcase.

Today, representatives from two teams spent time developing and refining their products, and we are incredibly grateful @ everythingdeangelo for volunteering to serve as a product development coach. His willingness to pour into our young men, share his expertise, and challenge them creatively made a tremendous impact.

Through today’s session, the middle school team developed two “Secret Scents” soy-based candles, while the high school team created an all-natural deodorant available in lavender and sandalwood scents. Watching these young entrepreneurs bring their ideas to life with confidence and creativity is inspiring.

Be on the lookout for information about the showcase!
