Mustard Seed Community Health was founded on the idea that small beginnings can create transformative change. Serving uninsured and underinsured residents of Guilford County. For countless families, Mustard Seed is the first place they experience consistent, compassionate health care, helping stabilize chronic conditions, prevent costly emergency room visits, and improve overall family well-being.

As demand for its services grows, Mustard Seed’s ability to expand has become critical. That growth is now being made possible through a $100,000 grant from the Black Investments in Greensboro - BIG Equity Fund. This investment directly supports Mustard Seed’s efforts to reach more families, strengthen community health, and reduce long-standing disparities. The Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro (CFGG), which hosts the BIG Equity Fund, plays a central role in advancing this mission.

In 2015, the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro was awarded a grant from W.K. Kellogg Foundation to expand and deepen its relationships with donors of color. Over the past five years, through the Expanding Community Giving initiative, CFGG has made major strides engaging more ethnically and racially diverse donors. This activity highlighted the lack of a permanent endowment focused on funding critical issues in the Black community, resulting in the establishment of the Black Investments in Greensboro (BIG) Equity Fund.
