Please find the details below regarding the upcoming No Kings event.
This time the event will feature three separate marches starting from different locations, all converging at the old courthouse downtown.
If you are unable to or do not want to participate in a march, you may go directly to 301 W Market. For those with mobility concerns, a designated drop-off and pick-up location will be coned off in front of the courthouse. Additionally, approximately 15 parking spots in the lot adjacent to the courthouse lawn have been reserved for those with mobility issues. We recommend arriving early to secure one of those spots. Volunteer mobility guides will also be available on-site to assist.
If you have specific questions regarding mobility or accessibility, please reply to this email.
To ensure the marches are evenly distributed, please report to the location corresponding to your last name. Marches start promptly at 11:00am so please arrive BEFORE 11:00am to be ready to march with your group:
A–G (UNCG): 1511 Walker Ave (By the baseball field. Parking available in the baseball field lot, College Park Baptist Church and Walker St parking deck)
H–N (NC A&T): 202 University Circle (By the February One Monument. Parking available at Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, Episcopal Church of The Redeemer, and on public side streets nearby, Regan, Beech, Massey, Bluford, etc.)
O–Z (Congregational United Church of Christ): 400 W Radiance Dr (Parking available at the church and along Mimosa Drive)
Please note that the UNCG route is longer than the others; if this is a concern, you are welcome to join one of the other groups.
We strongly encourage carpooling and using public transit.
A shuttle service will be available after the event to return participants to their original starting points.
As part of our mutual aid efforts, we are collecting non-perishable goods for A Simple Gesture. Please bring your donations to the event for collection and delivery to community members in need. If you prefer to donate monetarily rather than bring food, you may donate to the Venmo below and it will go towards filling the local Freedom Fridge.
We are still seeking volunteers and have a few inflatable costumes available. If you are interested in assisting, please complete the form below.
