Who's excited about club season?? We are especially excited because of all the new things going on at CSF.
SUNDAY was an AWESOME Open Gym - we had just under 100 girls enjoying some court time.
In other fun news ....... We are excited to announce and introduce Kaci Pike as our new Lead Coach.
Kaci received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Guilford College in 2008 and completed her masters degree in Sports and Exercise Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in May 2012. Upon graduating from Guilford College, she served the Head Coach at Trinity High School in Trinity, North Carolina before serving as an assistant coach for the Quakers for two seasons. In addition she has served as a coach for both the Sportsplex Volleyball Club, Piedmont Volleyball Club, Burlington School and most recently as the head coach at Greensboro College from 2014 thru spring 2017. As you can see she brings a wealth of coaching experience at both the high school, college level & club levels.
At Guilford, Kaci was a two-time captain and three-year starting libero for the Quakers. She earned honorable mention All-ODAC in 2006 and won Guilford's 2005 Best Defensive Player Award. She graduated from Guilford College ranked fourth in school history with a .948 serve percentage. She also stood seventh among Guilford's career digs leaders with 903 pickups in 75 matches. She was a 2006-07 Academic All-ODAC selection and three-time member of Guilford's Student Athlete Honor Roll. Kaci also received the Nereus C. English Award from Guilford College in 2008, which is the highest athletic award given out each year.
Kaci will be joining our coaching staff as the Lead Coach - she will be responsible for coordinating our tryouts - drills for the season, she will be running some coaches' clinics, she will be the liason with the Coaches Committee and also she will be responsible for our NEW Sunday Positional Practices.
So, that's another part of our season we are excited about. At no additional cost, every Sunday we will have available for all players & ages our Positional Practices. At this practice, the girls will be able to get additional work on any of the skills - the girls can choose if they want to come work on hitting, setting, passing, serving - their choice!!
