Tonight was our first night back at Special Saints! ❤️🙏

Special Saints is a wonderful ministry put on by Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. Pastor Jay leads us in prayer and worship, while the amazing ladies of the church lead us in singing some of our favorite songs.

It is such a special evening filled with Christ, learning about Jesus, prayers, music, fellowship, and lots of love. For an hour and a half, we come together to praise Jesus, spend time with one another, and enjoy being part of such a welcoming church family.

Our individuals absolutely love Special Saints, and the church members always welcome everyone with open arms, love, kindness, and support. ❤️

The first night is always extra special because we kick things off with pizza and soda! 🍕🥤

Special Saints will continue throughout the fall and spring on the first Tuesday of every month.

We are so thankful to Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Pastor Jay, and all the wonderful church members who make this such a meaningful and special experience for our individuals. We are blessed to be part of such a loving community! 🙏❤️ Thank you Margaret for setting everything up!

✨ What an AMAZING Team Bonding Day! ✨

Saturday was such a special day for our athletes! We headed to Olathe, Kansas, for a Special Olympics Media Day, where our athletes had the opportunity to have their pictures taken and be interviewed for future Special Olympics Kansas media and promotional use. 📸🎤

Of course, we couldn’t go all the way to Olathe and just come home after media day! We decided to make a FULL day of it! 😍

After media day, we stopped for lunch at Strips Chicken, a small local chicken shop in Olathe. The food was SO good, and everyone really enjoyed lunch! 🍗😋

Then it was off to the Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop-Farm Museum! 🤠🐴

What an incredible experience! We got a little glimpse into what life was like for pioneers in the 1800s. We even got to ride in a real stagecoach, and everyone was dressed in period costumes. The staff were absolutely wonderful and so welcoming to our group! ❤️

There were interactive activities throughout the museum, and everyone had such a great time learning, exploring, laughing, and experiencing history together. And let me tell you… it was HOT! 🥵😂 But not one person complained because we were having WAY too much fun!

We will definitely be going back again—when it’s a little cooler! 😂

To finish off our amazing day, we had our Team Bonding Awards! 🏆❤️ Every athlete received a special certificate reminding them just how SPECIAL they are, what they bring to our team, and how important they are to our team family.

It truly was an incredible day filled with new experiences, lots of laughs, learning, teamwork, and making memories together. 🥰

I love watching our athletes experience new things, get out into the community, and most importantly, have FUN together!

What a day! What a team! What an adventure! ❤️💙💛

What a GREAT night at the Waterville Farmers Market! 🥕🍪❤️

We had lots of fresh-picked veggies, delicious baked goods, and, most importantly, the opportunity to see so many wonderful people from our community! Thank you to everyone who stopped by, supported our booth, and continues to cheer us on. Your support means so much! 💙💛

Don’t forget—we also have an exciting raffle going on, with ALL proceeds going toward our swim team as we work to raise money for pool lanes! 🏊‍♀️🏊‍♂️
