Elwood Civic Association

Elwood Civic Association Advocates for Elwood, LI Since 1945

Elwood Civic Association, Inc. A new generation of membership has come forward to accept the symbolic “Torch”.

(“ETA”) was formed in 1945 in response to the need for a Civic minded organization to monitor, inform the populace, and take action when the way of life they had fostered was threatened. The torch of responsibility has been kept burning and has been handed forward to concerned and dedicated members of the Elwood Community, since then, year after year. With new energy and renewed commitment they wi

ll carry the organization forward with no less passion than the original founders, on to new heights. Expanding the family membership base and collaborating with other Civic Organizations throughout Long Island will make ETA a recognized, respected and relevant Special Interest itself.

Please note that the Elwood Civic Association is not responsible for the area on Cuba Hill and Elwood Road. However, some of our members do graciously volunteer their time to help make that space nice. A call has been put into the county regarding the overgrown weeds and grass. Please feel free to call Susan Berland’s office as well 631-854-5100. Thank you

It is with a heavy heart that the Elwood Civic Association shares with everyone the passing of both Fred and Lucille Troll.

We had the honor of recognizing both of them in 2019 for their significant contributions to the Elwood Community.

Residents of Elwood since 1959, they were members of our organization for over 60 years. Both of them served in the role of President and Mrs. Troll was our long-standing historian. Mr. Troll was heavily involved in The Boys Scouts of America for over 45 years. Collectively, they contributed to many initiatives and some of the wonderful things Elwood is known for.

Please join us in remembering them, celebrating their lives and extending our condolences and prayers to their family.
