Operation Enduring Cares 2nd Annual Car Show today was a stellar success. It was dedicated to our late brother Al Statton who founded Operation Enduring Care in 2009 with his wife Connie. Al passed away from cancer last Sunday after a 15 year of struggle. Over 200 exhibitors showed up as well as hundreds of spectators many of whom brought donations of clothing, blankets, non-perishable food and hygiene items for our veterans in residence at the Northport VA Medical Center. Many thanks to the Centuron Cruisers Car Club for sponsoring and running the show, as well as our Post 1244's American Legionnaires and Legion Riders, the Sea Cadets and many, many others.

Our mission is to provide requested comfort items to our veterans in need of assistance. It means outreaching to elderly veterans that are homebound. Veterans that are facing difficult medical issues, reassurance, in need of hygiene items, non perishable foods, warm bedding and comfort. We have provided televisions to a veterans Hospice Unit. 1,000 pair of socks to out patient homes. Over 18,000 meals to ease hunger.
We are active 365 days a year.

Supporting Ginger Hoernig and the 28th annual Good Friday "Good Faith Walk" at Walt Whitman High School. This year's event raised funds for St. Hugh of Lincoln Parish Outreach and Post 1244's Operation Enduring Care.
